OK my zxr is in bits and im gonna paint it up all nice. I am just wondering what colour I should paint it. Black is alwase good as its my favourite colour for a bike. But whats the best colour for re-sale value as im not intending on keeping this bike for long.

You have to ask? - RED of course.

Dude, if we can agree on a colour together, we could save some coin. I want to respray too...for a kawasaki...green is the ONLY colour...or black is nice too.

I think black for a 250. If it's gonna be ridden by a learner it may spend a fair bit of time sliding along the ground (if my learning curve is anything to go by!) - therefore pick a colour that's easy to match with touch up paint.

why red? so it goes faster?

My mate is gonna paint it for me. I am gonna do all the sanding. Hopefully it wont cost to much.

Go to an auction and watch the bidding between two identical cars, one whatever colour and one red - the red one will sell quicker for a higher price.Red had been proven to excite people, increase the heart rate - definatly the ''selling'' colour.

Kawas are green... red will look odd and make it seem like a Honda or something.

Just do it trademark kawa green all over... don't forget the rims as well.

Fire red - that's a Honda colour.

You did ask for opinions - and now you don't want them?

Recently on trademe ive seen a red(ish-kinda maroon) zxrC trying to be sold by a KBer, in my opinion didnt really suit it. The zxr's that seem to sell well are either black with gold decals or the green/blue/white combo paint scheme.

The black will be easier(and cheaper?) to do and will be mint if you give it a couple of clear coats over the top.
Personally, the green/blue/white scheme is my favourite...i bought my bike with warped discs, loose chain from an owner who didnt maintain it well, but it didnt matter cos it was green:love:
But i think either black or green would be better for resale....not green all over though.:nono:

Yep, Motu's right, witnessed the red phenomenon at Turners today. A red XR8 was one of the few cars that had several bidders going at it.

Although, Black is just mean on motorcycles, and easier as to fix up damage, and I think it will sell better than red.

Green, it's a bit too early 90's for my likings.

Also, keep it decal free. Bikes look really nice when they've got clean lines, in one colour with no decals.

Wow the orange is nice, but is it good for maintaining the resale value?

I would go black or the green and white standard ninja scheme for maintaining resale value.

it's a perlescent finish too, so in the flesh and right light, it really looks good.
Easy to keep clean, and my 636 is one of only a few in the country, so that helps with the value. But as for any other bike in that colour, no idea.

If you want that colour done right, Rookie, then drop me a PM. I can help you out there ;)
Oh, and good on ya mate :niceone:

and that a triangle pointing down was their 'symbol' too. Which strongly points the finger at a teletubby..

ok then, so more like the 2001 ZX-7R than the motoGP bike. Gotta remember though that the camera makes the paint look shit, i've seen that one in the flesh and it didnt look too bad. Either way i dont see why people would pay $8450 for that when i got my R6 for $8000 and its a mere 6 years younger and 3x as powerful.
