Wonder if anyone could tell me a bit about the $80 a day track days at Pukekohe? (I've done the TrackTime days a few times but there's no more until the spring, and they get a bit dear at $130 a time). Questions like how how much time on the track, how regulated (scrutineering? pillions allowed at all? are there marshalls and ambulance etc?), how do you organise to participate (just turn up on the day with $80 in your fist?), what kind of riders I can expect (are they hot shots fine-tuning their MotoGP skills or are there a few older duffers like me too?), how does it work with the cars (I assume they don't let cars and bikes out together...especially if the cars are driven by recent immigrants in hot hatches????). Any info appreciated. Might take my old GSXR750 out for an outing on Friday if it looks like it's worth doing. Cheers

Go here for info about it: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=61

- There is no scrutineering and there are just about no rules and regualtions.
- Pillions are ok just as long as they look geared up as well. One of my mates and another of my mates have gone two up and wheelied the whole of the back straight without any worries.
- No marshals.
- Turn up with the cash in hand on the day. Note: check if bikes are allowed on the day prior to turning up
- You can expect anyone from some learner on a FXR150 to Andrew Stroud himself.
- Depends on how many different types of vehicles there are out there. if its just bikes and cars, it will be 20mins cars and 20mins bike etc etc. Some times you may find drifters and racing trucks out there so they'll get their own 20mins for themselves aswell.
- See ya on the track :niceone:

Wont see me at Manfeild, mate. Daughters second birthday party. Why don't you all come to Lollipops with me? That'd be fun.

Just for interest: I called Gary, the guy who seems to be in control of the " test days" at Pukekohe. His phone number is 0274 967759. I asked him if it was necessary to call beforehand to see if bikes are going to be accepted and he said no, they're always accepted on any test day.

How big's their carpark? I'm sure her and her friends would enjoy a show. Don't know if Management would enjoy a whole lotta bikers pulling wheelies and stoppies in ththeir carpark.

There are always aceptions. 19/20 you'll be sweet though. Just that one time they were having a big car race dat the next day and there were too many cars so bikes weren't allowed. I ended up wasting 4 hours in total that day.

Yep another time some corporate sponsor hired the track at short notice. I turned up with about 30 others and was turned away. Wasted a whole morning and $30 gas.
