Hi guys, I know it's a long notice but I thought a ride for everyone around manawatu next sunday would be great (since I'm tied up this weekend and I have to vacate my house for a few hours next sunday afternoon anyway)

Not sure about route since I still don't know where the hell we went last time we went for a ride but I'm sure one of the more experienced riders around here will have an idea like last time. Hopefully the weather is a bit better, I'll also have to try and take some more photos this time.

If anyone's interested please show your interest here, and what does everyone think about a later start? (yeah! for sunday sleep in...) like 11am or midday?

I thought with a longer notice like this we'd be able to get more people. (I know mattrsk and fizzafulla was interested) I'll also try to remember some user ids and pm anyone I can think of...

Excellent, so it's finalised meet at Ashhurst petrol station (mobile is it?) at midday. Will wait till 12.30 for any late people.

The weather forcast isn't any good but I'll be going for a ride anyway (have to leave home for a few hours tomorrow) and we'll see about route when we meet tomorrow. If anyone's certain that they're coming leave your name here and we'll make sure to wait for you.

i might just pop over and have a chat. dont think I will be riding as I am very very very ill. (just ask my wife, she will tell you how sick I am) Then again, by tomorrow afternoon she may lock me out of the house.

The weather forcast isn't any good but I'll be going for a ride anyway (have to leave home for a few hours tomorrow) and we'll see about route when we meet tomorrow. May I suggest heading East- http://www.metservice.co.nz/default/index.php?alias=dannevirke
Hastings is ment to be getting up to around 15 degrees C and sunny. Plenty of nice back roads over that way.

Hey all, I came up to Palmy yesterday (in the cage) so I might pop over to ashurst to say hello, see you around 12ish.

3 Kwakas and a lone Honda departed Ashurst hailing and a tad nippy. Headed eastish towords Dannivirke. Stopped at Webber, but the Webber pub is a pub no more. Off to Wimbleton for refreshments, where the bigger K bikes twadled off home. Leaving the 250 and 30 yo CB550 to do their own thing.

Jason and I headed towards Porangahau. Tried swinging around the edge of a rather ominous black cloud. No luck, we were dumped on good and proper.

Got as far as Waipawa and decided the best thing to do was head home, leaving Middle road for another day. Damn cold, wet and miserable ride. Mind you I was glad to be out on the m/c all same.

Was a relief to see the bath was full of steaming hot water when I got home and tea in the microwave. Pics attached

What were you saying this morning about it always being sunny in the bay?

Bit like the taupo napier run. Cant escape those rain clouds.

I sat in front of the tv and watched the motor racing for the afternoon. Cosy here.

Still think I should have gone riding though.....

.From Waipawa on it looked sweet. Just a time thing that's all. Jason was just getting over a bout of something also so we did the right thing heading home.

Hey, wasn't Gary on that Taupo run also ;)

Good effort guys. I chickened out when I tried to put my leather jacket on and was nearly blown to the east coast by a gust of wind.

Good ride it was, at the same time, it was the most cold and miserable time I've ever had... apprently hailstones at openroad speed + windspeed hurts a little...

Thanks bonez for the ride, sorry I didn't wanna keep going to havelock north... the ride still stretched me to my limits... never been so cold in my winter gear... lucky I had my heated grips.

Looking forward to the next ride! (and hopefully, this time it will be dry....)

You did well Jason. I'm impressed with how well that lil parralel twin of yours goes.
