Man nearly died after eating poison meatballs

In short, a butcher's helper mixed an illegally high dose of Sodium Nitrate in with the meatball mix and a man nearly died from eating them. Reason for the mistake? Thought that the preservative (labeled 'Poison')was flavouring and didn't know what 'Poison' meant.

Am I naive to think that the language tests to get into the country would include important words like 'Poison'?
