Jeff Ward (45 years old) won the supermoto race at the X-games - pretty classy field too.

Race had an interesting format - they had to make a mandatory pit stop to take on fuel and change the rear wheel. Ward effectively won it in the pits when he did his stop in about 14 seconds, which was about 15 seconds faster than Mark Burkhart who came second and was faster than Ward on the track but couldn't make-up the lost time.

Darryl Atkins was also in the race - came 6th.

Ward is an incredible natural talent.
He won the US MX title a number of times in the mid eighties.
He then raced Indy cars for a number of years, and now he's on bikes again spanking the young guys in his retirement.
I meet him at a round of the US MX nationals about 20 years ago - nice guy (don't you hate that).
