Although this "speeding" story is car related, it is quite amusing. To cut a long story short I was stopped in a Honda Logo for allegedly doing 123 in a 100 zone - last October. By various means (mainly by using long words the Police Infringement Bureau couldn't understand) I requested a hearing some
3 1/2 months later which they chose to ignore - and yes it was within the time limits stated.
Eventually a judge looked at all the paperwork about four months after that, and I was given a hearing date which was ten months after the incident, so much for speedy justice.
Anyway four days before the hearing date the Police rung me, saying that the case will be withdrawn and I don't need to attend - the reason? the Infringement Bureau have mislaid the paperwork. The question is have they actually lost the paperwork or did they realize that the whole thing was out of time and couldn't be prosecuted?
I've just completed my costs claim for $608 which will be going in the post tonight.
Anyone who wants to know how to defend all speeding charges should post a reply - but first do some backround reading at www.pepipoo.com
It's much more fun than you might think.
