Suzuki GSX-R 750 or 1000, anything considered between 2001 and 2003.
Must have under 40,000 km on the clock and you are expecting under $10,000 for it.
Good opportunity for anyone who has a shitty old GSX-R and want to get rid of it and buy a real bike, like a Hyosung or something.

Possibly, depending on the price. I'm monitoring Trade Me and have my eye on one in particular, but I thought i'd see if there were an fellow members hoping to secure the sale of their steed.
I've ridden a few bikes now, from 250cc to 750cc and none of them had enough power for me. I am about 115 or 120 KG (most of that is muscle mass as a result of boxing from a young age, a small percentage would be pies).
So basically I want torque, lots of torque to haul my arse around, torque you only find in bikes around 1000cc.

Gave some serious consideration to CB900 and CB1300 but there aren't many second hand ones available at reasonable prices. And I'm not going to buy brand new until I'm eligable for insurance *cough*.

my father in law as fun riding the 600 bandit we have in the garage, which puts out a about 80hp. and he is little heavy than you. And he also had as the hayabusa to choose from.
So don't knock the 600 not having enough tourque, compared to 750/1000 yes they have less, but still to have fun, and not as uch to come bite you on the ass

I'd be happy with a 600, but I'd prefer a 1000 for the fact I could ride it as fast as I would a 600 at it's limits, but not be thrashing it.
So who else has got something they want to flick for under $10K? If nothing I'll go with the one I like on Trade Me.

People on 4 year old vintage bikes shouldn't throw stones.

I meant that in a metaphorical sense.
If a suitable 600 at a reasonable price within my budget comes to light I will give it consideration.
But I know my abilities and the sort of person I am, so I know what I want as a bike and I'm going to get it. If I thought that it was going to be a death trap and increase the likelyhood of me never seeing my girlfriend or daughter again I wouldn't get it.

Fuck sake, don't start this shit people. I want to buy a bike and merely wanted to offer someone the opportunity to secure a sale.

Sometimes it's better to shut your mouth and be thought an idiot, than to open it and remove all doubt.

I'd say one would be pretty hard pressed to ride 600 from 2000 onwards to it's limits on our roads. Though of course the 600's do require you to rev them pretty high to get to the good stuff, but hey that's they fun of them I reckon. If torque is what you are after then why not look for a vtwin instead?

Same goes for being a cunt. If you haven't got anything worthwhile to add then fuck off, I can't be bothered with peoples ego-stroking bullshit.
What a waste of time starting this thread was.

Yeah I love V-Twin engines and was originally going to get a TL but changed my mind. I rarely go over 140 - 160 on the road so I don't want a bike to do high speeds, just something I enjoy owning and riding and has enough torque to satisfy me.
But seriously, anyone got a GSXR K1 - K3 750 or 1000 they want to sell?
My bike is getting its fuel tap, chain, sprockets replaced this week then going to the dealer cheap and making room for the new bikes.

Mate - you seen Poo's ride?
I've seen both of you ride and suggest you delete that post of yours before he reads it.
What's a few months? - Kiwibiker trackday in November??
..besides - what a weird request is that - are you actually gay??
I'll be deleting this post in a few mins too.
It's not gay if you're from the Wairarapa.
No I haven't seen poo's ride and I don't expect I could ride at his level any time soon, I'm just talking shit.

Hold on while I re-measure my penis size, I'm sure it grew another quater inch with that manly ego boosting statement of mine.

good luck with it man. Honestly if you want torque look at a v-twin like the SV650 or maybe even a 1000 V-twin in a sportier setup (VTR/TL with ohlins bits will be around 10k. But SV650 has lots of torque for its size and thats no lie.
But 600-750 is a good start man, looking foward to kicking your ass on a reasonably sized bike, we're both heavy, both eat pies... so now power-weight aint an excuse.

Hey Swan,
Fuck the :finger: 6-hundies man, go the thou. Coleman's have a '00 TLR here (http://colemanssuzuki2.motorcycletrader.co.nz/Tig/Yard/Yard.aspx?UsedBikeID=993244&DealerID=30141&NoPBHeader=1&ShowLocation=false&ItemDetailsTemplate=AutobuyVertical&Alias=colemanssuzuki2nz)
I own one an a K3 thou. Both have there good points, but I still prefer the TLR, besides its fun keeping up with all the others on ya "old bike".
:not: LONG LIVE the TLR :not:

Now stop acting like a poor person and buy a new bike.
