usy night for the police last night. Just checking nzcity and the report reads like this...

Police dealt with five simultaneous pursuits around Auckland city in the early hours of this morning.

The first chase involved a mini-chopper motorcycle in the backblocks of south Auckland.

Police eventually caught up with the rider but say while the bike was not going fast it was highly manoeuvrable and difficult to corner.

Do these minibikes corner that badly?

Grand heading but little substance. Seems quite typical of the media lately. But I must say I am impressed that cowboyz can read.:nya:

Mini chopper being chased by police.

NZ Police CommCens Alert 02:00 13-08-2006 Auckland City

Location of incident: Auckland and Counties/Manukau

Incident Type: Simulaneous Police Pursuits

A bevy of simultaneous pursuits caused a few stressful moments in the Police Communication Centre earlier this morning. It all started with the pursuit of a mini chopper in the back blocks of South Auckland.

During the duration of this pursuit there were four others in various parts of the city. One was over fairly quickly when the driver realizing his mistake pulled over and stopped shortly after he had decided take off from the police. The second was abandoned at the first traffic light controlled intersection, when it failed to stop at a red light. The offending vehicle crashed at the next intersection, no injuries were sustained. The next pursuit started to turn bad for the offending driver when he clipped a vehicle after turning in front of it at an intersection. The offending vehicle drove on a short distance before losing control and being boxed in by the pursuing police car. The final pursuit was short lived when the driver of the offending vehicle decided to stop, !
possibly after realizing the error of his ways.

After all this excitement the mini chopper that began it all was forced to stop by police cars 20 minutes after it all began. This pursuit involved low speeds but trying to capture this highly maneuverable little motorcycle proved to be more of a task that the others were.

No injuries were sustained during the coordination of these pursuits. Several people are now facing a number of traffic charges.

Is he called that cause he's got a small Cock

Probably as likely a reason as your site name backwards indicates you wreck bikes....

Must've been a right laugh trying to get him.

And I imagine with the kind of rake they have and 1.5 inches ground clearance...they'd handle pretty shit.

When they say "difficult to corner" I think they mean it was difficult to "corner" (get) the rider in a situation from which he couldn't escape.

I would like to have seen the police zap the minichopper rider with a tazer, that would have sorted it out nice and quick.

if they gave chase for long enough something wouldve broken on it anyways...when i had one and this was the same with anybody i knew who had one....you spent more time fixing them than you did riding them...

in the end my skillful riding snapped the frame....repeatedly

<tangent>

of course they did. But the point being these media guys spent all this money (oops.. I mean borrow all this money from the government) to get educated to write clear articles and obviously the reported here would have got a D-. (if it fact that was possible these days). You can't have people failing. It might scare them for life..
