Went over the Taka's today and couldn't get moved for bikes.
Unfortunately I think I've got something wrong with my speedo cable. Top gear, fully open and the speedo showed 40k. Honest officer, my speedo only showed 40....
Great day over there although the baby struggled with the head wind coming back. Hope everyone had a good, safe day.:niceone:

That head wind was a shocker aye! Funny, didn't notice it on the way there, wondered why I was finding it hard to be a nanna on the way up!

My hands were getting quite cold on the way back up from two bridges.

Well when I went over the Taka's yesterday there weren't many bikes - I had planned a day of sewing (don't worry Titan ya jacket will get finished - well started soon lol). Thought stuff that - I need to ride. 2 thermal tops, leather jacket and then my spidi jacket (with liner in), a little overkill but once at the top of the hill I was grateful for it all.
Had to stop at Rimutex and buy some duck tape for an indicator. Left there around 10.45 and didn't follow one bike! Hadn't done this ride for 4.5 years I realised and they have taken out some cool corners on the way to the hill! Then I had another thought (the grey matter was really getting a beating today!!) it had been 5 months since I had been for a good blat and one that lasted more than an hour. That is DISGUSTING. I felt I was riding like a pig!! - when really I was just a little out of practice! Geez I wish they would ban cars from that hill - don't they know that it was my private race track!! Got to the top - hardly anyone there so went to Featherston. Just getting to know the bike again.
I found I would set myself up for a corner with right lines etc and going at speed and midway thru corner would lose my confidence! geez it pissed me off - I am assured that this is due to lack of riding. More practice needed.
Got to the top of hill and had a coffee. More bikes and they were an older set of riders. But they didn't talk. And I couldn't get over my shyness (normally a very confident person) obviously been hibernating too long.
Enjoyed riding back, over the haywards to Whitby to visit friends and back home.
A short ride really but I was knackered - I had a friend laying carpet in my apartment and upon my return he said I looked like I had been in the boxing ring! Felt like it. Embarrassed to say I had to have a nanny nap lol.
Definitely more riding is needed on my agenda - I had checked on KB to see if any rides were on or where people were meeting but couldn't find any.
I have always ridden on my own but would enjoy going out with other bikers.
I'm just not too proficient on finding my way around the KB website. I have found the October ride and put it in my calendar tho!@!!
Cheers

Mrs KD: yea, I was finding the wind wasnt really a problem on the way up but on the way down it was definately more of a problem.

I know what you mean; been busy and hadn't been out for a blast for the last couple of weeks ~ found myself making a few stupid mistakes. Nothing serious, just enough to bother me. :nono:
