Right, so what we need to do is encourage more of these old (ie good) bands/artists to come back and we can get rid of the rapping shit that currently infests radio!!! Viva la revolution!!

From Stuff:

Th'Dudes announce Kiwi reunion tour
17 August 2006

Legendary Kiwi rock band Th'Dudes have announced they will reform for a 10-date national tour in October.

The band, most famous for the drinking anthem Bliss, will play alongside Hello Sailor and Hammond Gamble to celebrate Radio Hauraki's 40th anniversary.

Peter Urlich, Dave Dobbyn, Lez White, Ian Morris and Bruce Hambling announced details of the reunion tour at a press conference in Auckland yesterday.

Th'Dudes released two albums in the late 1970s - Right First Time and Where are the Boys - and their last performance was in 1980.

Tickets for the tour go on sale through Ticketek on August 25.

Tour dates:
October 2: Forum North, Whangarei
October 3: Municipal Theatre, Napier
October 4: Holy Trinity, Tauranga
October 5: Founders Theatre, Hamilton
October 6: St James, Auckland
October 9: TSB Showplace, New Plymouth
October 10: Opera House, Wellington
October 12: Civic Theatre, Invercargill
October 13: Town Hall, Dunedin
October 14: Theatre Royal, Christchurch

Pain in the arse they're all on week nights though.

I carried Th'Dudes CD with me when travelling around overseas. Put the CD on, and it draws in every Kiwi within a 10km radius. 50 drunk kiwis singing Bliss at 3am in the morning, and pissing all the other backpackers off........priceless.

'Citizen Band' is another NZ group that recorded another cult kiwi song...
'Rust in my Car', with the unmistakable opening guitar riff......
Greg Chunn was in the band, two other songs i remember are 'Protection' and 'Arobats', which was a ballard.

Deep purples lineup was orginal, they changed members a lot, but all people had been in the band at some time, AND they rocked so hard it was rocking rock hard rock so good hard rock.

I understand what you are saying R/M about '' being in the band' at some point in time, i have seen KISS twice, first time 1980' 2nd time in 1996' with the original 4, they have had a few members over the years but cant beat Simmons/Stanley/Frehley/Criss....i guess it doesn't matter who's in a band at any one time, they are still 'who they are'....cool to see original line tho'

Im not a huge deep purple fan, I don't know the current members and I don't know the orginal orginal members. I don't care who sings or plays guitar or smashes a drum. All i care about if it is good. And they were good. Best show I've been too (only been to deep purple, the stones and some minor shitty nz bands and soon u2 and th dudes!). The thing I liked about it was they were playing very very tight. And so heavy. (I wouldn't of classed them as heavy rock before but the defintaly are!). Ian sounded so good, for an old guy and even a youngin!, and there new songs are still heavy, which is good as alot of bands get soft in there old age.

Kiss? Man I would LOVE to see them. I'd agree with you on the orgiganal members sounding best too. I have only 1 kiss cd (best of) and I played it for 3 months straight (when I had a car now I don't really have an oppertunity to listen to cds which is a bit gay). Calling dr love FOR THE WIN!
