Any one know the legalities around altering the tail on a bike ? Example taking the black bike & building a tail like the red bike.
Would the warrant guys knock red bike back on lack of mudguard would a hugger suffice?
Some one must have been there with the blade rear styling that is messed up by an ugly guard EG SV1000

Onlys requirements are

Red rear facing reflector with some standards printed on it, can get from repco and the like for 5 dollars
Indicators duh
A white light to illluminate the plate, which you need as well, a few dollars on LEDs and resistors can make one of those as well

I think you must ('should' depending on WOF dude) be able to see each indicator from an angle of 60 degrees (opposite side of bike to indicator)

i replaced mine with an aftermarket undertray (see avatar) to get rid of all the crap on the back...had a hassle with local bike shop but there problem was with the lights as they are leds and dont have the numbers stamped on them, cant see you having a problem if your just getting rid of guard.

sAsLEX has it in one...

The one thing you have to look out for, is when removing the plastic, is that is usually holds the license plate light, which is required for wof.

Re-mount all the required bits etc, and you should have no problem.

From the looks of that daytona pic the plate illumination will be in the form of a clear plate beneath the stop/rear lights so as long as you mount the plate under there you should be sweet.

Nice work on that TL !
I dont want any hassles and so have an "e" stamped led light on its way & will pick up some mini indicators from somewhere ..... those combined tail brake indicator lights are all good just too pricey
Im aiming for a set up like the pic... and... no hassles

Integrated LED are pretty good, the only issue I have with mine is that the brake light tends to wash out the indicator, if both are on. Mates have commented on it, and I have noticed when following my bike. You just have to be aware of it, and adjust your riding accordingly.

hehehe, spank has that code for not duplicating pictures, so here's a link instead of my setup: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=35891&d=1151574564

If you can get like the Guzzi in pic it will look the business...i would be tempted to paint the undertray the same as bike...if you do buy some of that clear film to stick under there as i did because the stones make a real mess pretty quick........mini indicators you can get from www.sportsbikesnz.co.nz
