The Bayliss (as well as the Bostrom) was released in 2002 as a 998s, but with front ohlins and the flashy paint job/slightly different fairings. Oh and the Bostrum has different wheels, very sexy.

Three spoke wheels on all run of the mill 916's + 1999 996

Five spokes on 2000 996 onwards + earlier SPS versions of the 916

998's have no large ducts on the side fairings or tail unit

Hell thats one minter of a bike. I dream of owning something like that one day.
To tell the truth I was extremely tempted to but a k6 750. Limbimtimwim even beat me to one. I only bought this bike because it was such good buying, I had the money (thanks to on the spot finance from a KB'er) and I had just that day moved into a house with a garage. It was a once in a lifetime (shorter now) oppotunity. I don't think I'll be able to afford another in a loooooooooong time.
