First of all, Big ups to Lou for hooking me up.:Punk:

Time for a change on the FZ1, currently been running the Diablo Strada, and although ive had no problems with the Pirellis, thought i would give the contis a try.
Ive been doing a lot of reading on the merkin FZ1 site, and there have been some very good reviews.
So, over the next couple of months i will try to keep you all informed on how these perform in a range of situations, as i hope to get to kiwifruits next track day, and as im an unemployed bum at the moment im getting to spend a few more days on the road.:scooter:

The Scrub
As i left Amps today i thought, theres going to be no better way to scrub in this new rubber than a nice easy cruise down 22 on the way home. Decide to take it easy (120 max), not push things too far but didnt need to worry at all. Very solid, no sliding, or even a twitch. Quick inspection when i got home, chicken strips of no more than 15mm each side.
So far nothing to complain about.

Well, the first decent ride on the new Conti saw me heading out to Kawhia.
As i know this area quite well, thought it would be a good place to really start pushing things.
The ride down to Kihikihi was quite sedate and sitting at the back of the pack didnt really push things too far. The ride seems good, not much different to the Diablo.
When we headed off i thought i would move towards the front and lift the pace a bit. Still no probs. The rear felt very secure. Thriough the twisty stuff and the only problem i was having was ground clearance, not a prob from the tire.
Even the high speed run from Oto to Te Awamutu didnt give any indication of any problems. Even got rid of the remaining chicken strips.
So far all is good.
Next report will be after the trackday on the 8th.:Punk:
