Yeah, PC800, rode one a few times when they first came out. They're better than they look!

That's criminal to let someone like that ride such a beautiful bike and ditch it !!
Give it to me, I'll show her how to ride it.
Are they restricted (ie 77hp) over in Japan?

Even some jap market ones are unrestricted 130hp

Which in 1992 wasn't bad. At the time the $100,000 price tag in this country didn't endear them to volume sales.

The oval piston thing we all know was about trying to beat the GP cylinder limits of the day against the 2 strokes. In the end Honda beat all that by presumably pushing for MotoGp with 4 strokes and winning out of the box with the RC211V.

A rolling piece of technological art & sophistication, pretty much a crime to use it, much better to be just admired.
IMO I'd rather have a mint RC30 or RC45 for clearing cobwebs on fine sundays.

There's 2 RC45s in Ashvagas for sale for the right coin  one comes complete with a spare frame & bodywork

Apparently there is a Honda dealer in Japan who has a musuem of collectable Honda classics, including the only NR750 Streetfighter in the world!

For a whole lot less coin the ( well it was like that ..look at the prices of em now !) you could get a NC30 with the Hrc kit , bit revvy , but waaay fun

Really?
Does the owner have the initials B.P.?

Used to live down there myself, found road bikes much more exciting once I moved to the Manawatu ;)

I'd love to have an original NR just for display. Although there isn't anywhere in our lounge to put a display case that big. Still, it'd be one of the first things I'd put in my own private bike museum.

MT, if you do get an NR750; it can sit in the kitchen with my RVF. You can visit it any time you want.

Haha yeah they're both Brendon's bikes, the bike with the spare frame & bodywork is the one that was swiped from from Hamilton during a test ride back in the mid 90s. B.P won the tender for it when it was recovered, whoever the prick was that took it had bored a hole through the frame so BP got another frame for it plus new panels to replace the ones that had been roughed up. It's been dyno'd at 118hp at the wheel & the 2nd bike went 112hp. Both are on display in his shop & he uses them as well, took one to the brass this year.

Ha nothing wrong with down here if your into being able to see the curvature of the earth. Just got to have something that's quick in a straight line to get to the twisties faster:shutup::innocent:

If you're referring to the NR then from what I've read they were quite fast and handled reasonably well, but suffered from excessive weight (and excessive price tag if you ditched it !!)

I reckon a good ZXR-750 from Chertsey may give one a run for it's money ;) :scooter:

I remember we werent allowed to service them , the fellas from the factory did that , Did see the internals of the engine when it came out , I was on a training course and the engine was onthe bench, The rings hada hard time , and the wieght which has been said . Nice sound, but i wouldn t pay that money for the same ride as a Rc 30 ( I wouldnt even buy an RC 30, you can have a more fun on a d7 bantam )

Still they sold one or two, they still pop up on the auctions sometimes ...

Stephen

Happy with his bike
