After some three months or so, I have finally finished the mods to the Busa at a cost of alot of $$$'s...

Ok, I have a few tweaks to do but here is "done" list..

Replace stock exhausts with Yoshi 4-2-1 (full system)
K&N Airfilter
Airbox Mod
Iridium Sparkplugs
TRE (Timing Retard Eliminator)
New paint job on all fairings - Metallic black with flecks of blue in direct sunlight
Wheels repainted - Semi-gloss black
New wheel bearings (front & rear)
New Engine and rear sprocket
New X Ring chain
New Michelin M3's front and rear
Re-Upholstered seat with the hayabusa logo embroided on the pillion seat
Power Commander should be here this week and is the "missing piece"

The short story is now..
THIS BIKE IS F**** SCARY!!! :shit:

Acknowledgements go to CaN for the photo's :)

If M1CRO finds this bike F***ing scary then his reaction to fear is to produce a grin so wide the top of his head starts to fall off.

Gorgeous piece of kit - paint job looks better in the flesh - photos don't quite do it justice.

Must admit it is fun but still scary especially mid-upper range...
All in the wrist at the end of the day..

That is the third pack-rack thus far.. Pillions keep bending the damn thing when the front wheel reaches for the sky :gob: Has to stay.. cheaper than losing pillions :innocent:

Great photos. I think Hayabusa look real good front on, and the Black makes it look exceptionally good

THIS BIKE IS F**** SCARY!!! :shit:Yes it surely looks the part Chris, good riding with you on Saturday, the times I was following you that shiney black beast sounded awesome when you dropped it down a gear and accelerated to pass another vehicle! Once your PC3 arrives and it gets tuned I'll be interested to hear how it goes, would be good to see a dyno result too.

Have you investigated that small oil leak any further?

Edbear
21st August 2006, 07:05
Awesome, mate! Nice to see mods that really suit the bike! A good improvement. Have you considered a low pillion backrest? Might be a bit stronger than a pack rack

Yeah, would be interesting to see a dyno sheet once it's all sorted, and a contest between the new 14 on the strip, too... I reckoned that Suzuki wouldn't have to do too much to the Busa to keep it on top as the two bikes are so close in performance as they are.

I got decals from these guys - only took a couple of days from the UK and they're very reasonable.

Nice machine you've got there mate...and yes it does look far better in the flesh too, especially the paint job. Will look smooth with some understated graphics on it...a unique/personalised look is the way IMO,not quite a "standard" look.
Any luck re oil situation? Did you check the overflow pipe to your mod'd airbox? No doubt it will be a mere minor fault.
Got to say whilst I followed you for a wee bit the Busa sounded noice and with the PP installed it'll sort out the fueling too.
Be sure to come back up our way again once sorted so we can see how it really goes :innocent:

Sorry, I don't recall saying I remember that Orions were "GREEN" thank you...
It was the nose profile (as per picture).

Good to have people jumping to conclusions, makes your night so much
better

i was taking the piss dude, but if you look at the pic (assuming your not green/grey colour blind) you will see that the aircraft is clearly green - orions in NZ were only ever white/grey with black nose or all over grey.

Anyway dont want to hi-jack the thread.

All credit to you guys discussing the 'plane. I was actually there when the photos were being taken and I was too busy drooling while admiring the 'Busa to even notice there was a plane there.

In their current state I think M1CRO's bike goes faster than the 'plane so I'll keep my attention on that.

that would be the C-17 that came in to move our SAS and some Army Engineers to Afghanistan and Iraq when our aircraft were too busy doing other things.

Thats the only aircraft i have seen at Whenuapai that is largely visible at the far end of the runway, as it slopes down considerably at the other end. Even the Hercules only bearly shows the top of the tail when sitting at the far end.

Do you reckon you could jack up a race with one of the planes??? you could give the plane a run up start...

R6_kid
23rd August 2006, 21:23
A plane from whenuapai? There isnt really anything worth racing, or room to race against them in the same direction.

After waiting a "few" weeks, my Power Commander III is finally here :shit:
Will pick it up tomorrow and "fine tune" things.. Anyone "been there, done that"? I assume Maps come with it, but you can also download additional ones off the net...

Anyway, Laptop will be coming for a ride this weekend!

Cant wait :gob:

Just did a quick google and came up with this:

http://www.powercommander.com/320_PCIIIusbmaps.shtml

This sounds like your setup yeh?
M320-002: Yoshimura full exhaust and Stock or aftermarket air filter

I guess you might have to tweak it a bit for the TRE you go in there, but it's a good start. And if you think it could go better but you cant figure it out im sure there'll be something to be found via google on the effects of a TRE and how to adjust fueling to fit. Otherwise there are always the people that get paid to do it!

DO NOT USE A US MAP

there fuel is tons different to ours, use at least a europe map, until you have money and time to get a map set up for your bike
