Zapf - Isnt this the one that Justsomeguy is also doing...?
He was going around the Coro loop a few times in a day to build up stamina etc for the long haul of this ride.

Na... don't think GC will ever do coroloop in the dark... but some of the major roads from Auckland to Taupo in a loop fashion

Nope i will be on the XTX ........ need to do some mods to it first bigger screen, Aux Fuel Tank & heated grips. Which bike you going to use

what manner of a beast is the XTX? I'll be using the CB900... friendly power.. won't mind a damper on the CB900 thou, I'll be getting heated grips too which ones do u plan to get?

Looking at getting the oxford ones but still doing the old research thing

cool, I was thinking of the Oxford ones too. And also some hand guards to keep wind off the hands

Make your own Zapf....just dont make them to hot or you'll burn your hands. Yeah...apparently its quite easy to do that :whistle:.

Hahah... I don't want blistered hands specially when riding close to 20 hours in one go :)

If you do some research on past GC's I think you'll find at least one of them was around Coro... I remember Blackbird once posting that to get a feel for what's it like ... try doing the Coro loop in the dark.

I have just installed a set of PIAA 55W spots from trademe for $30. being small there is not a lot of distace to them but the extra light is great. A new battery and new tyres and I'm set for the ride.

2 x Hella MicroDE fog lights... will let u know results.

They were fog but have removed the bracket inside the spot that made it the fog shape spread now they are spotlights but not pencil beam rather more like driving lights

bracket meaning the reflector? I am planning on turning mine 90 degrees to the outside... :) u get the idea.
