Hi there.. already done the first intro thread thingee.. (Another KB virgin..) & now want to see if there are any other KB'rs around the Nelson region, who might wanna get together & go for a blat somewhere...?? I have pretty much missed nearly a years worth of riding, due to major electrical meltdown with my bike.. & lack of funds to keep her on the road.. so am HANGIN out to get some riding done this season!!!! Am a bit restricted as to when I can get out.. due to kids & Polytech timetable.. but if anyone has an outing planned. I'd love to hear about it (as much notice as poss would be xlnt!!!) & see if I can organise to join ya's!!! It's not much fun tickey touring around on ya own all the time!! Hope to hear from ya's!! cheers.. Jen :scooter:

Hi and welcome to KB again! I'm Nelson based and keen to meet up for a ride when things warm up and dry out somewhat. There's plenty of good twisty stuff round here that I haven't had the pleaseure of riding as I'm fairly new to the game....Takaka Hill, Queen Charlotte, St Arnaud and Kohatu Junction to name a few.

My bike is in the workshop waiting for the insurance people to get their shit together and decide how to tackle $3500 worth of someone else's damage...bike was hit while parked and no crash posts meant lots of damage.

Send us a PM and keep in touch. What are you studying? My wife is doing her Nursing at NMIT. Cheers, bell.

OMG SD that was the year I was born!

Oh yeah and I do know of one biker in Nelson, that you may even remember MyGSXF...my pops!
Yup he still has his red and black XJ600, finally back on the road after a couple of year hiatus in some shed somewhere (shame on you popsy). He took my bike for a blat when he was down here last, and ALMOST refused to give it up. I could just imagine him heading off into the sunset back to Nelson, going woooooooppppppppeeeeee all the way home. But I did manage to wrestle the keys back somehow.
So keep a lookout, cos he will be around somewhere. And we will be up for the Nelson rally in December, fingers crossed. Will try to do a better job of catching up than the last time ;)

Who's going to be the one to organise a weekend ride over to Golden Bay one of these weekends eh? I've never ridden in a group and might need to be eased into this group riding thing. GSXF? Are you the organiser type?! :dodge:

I thought about this after I'd posted it and figured, this is probably as simple as saying: Ride to Golden Bay, leaving Mobil Richmond at 9am Saturday 11th November. Newbies welcome (that's me). PM me if interested.

Unfortunately I probably won't be able to make it.. it's the Nelson rally the weekend before & my olds have just dissappeared for the next 3 weeks.. so there goes my babysitters.. also currently nursing a broken finger.. so tackling the hill in this state might not be such a great idea during the next 5 weeks... bugger! will definately be keen for another day however!!!!!! :Punk:

9am? Who in their right mind would be out of bed that time of day?

PS: I work nights....

But yip, we can try getting a group together some time.

Bell, I assume you have the Z back and riding? Our two Z's can trade stories, since they've both been down and repaired... Maybe they take a fancy to each other and make little Z's, wouldn't that be cool...

If your heading that way, I'd rather meet you along the way somewhere (Upper Moutre, Motueka, kind of thing maybe?), and save the 20km trip to Richmond...
9 am is a little early for me too, but keen otherwise

Ha, you're right...9 is a bit early. 10, 11am better? Was thinking that my tummy might be grumbling for lunch if we were getting into Takaka more than a few minutes after 12. :msn-wink:

Baby Zed's? Oooh, err, sounds rude. Or like we've had a tail-ender into one of those hairpins going up the hill. So good to have the bike back in order. $3500 for a 0km/h knockover. Now I know why there are so many motorcycle wreckers around NZ.

Keep you posted on whether there's anything happening on the 11th. Have a good week!

Yeah, timing's flexible! Coastal route is a bit dull so the back roads would be preferable. Will see what other interest is shown in the next week or two. Should I be putting this into "Meetings and Events" or something?

Belated sympathy for the broken finger...was it a bike related 'incident' or did you have to punch someone?

Also appears that you got off lightly compared to BB.

Now, what did the doctor say about resting that left hand eh? You take it easy now. Might see you this weekend. Just what is on the agenda for the rally?

Ok. Follow the leader is a good game too...be nice if we had some of that sunshine stuff this weekend eh? Might get across to Collingwood or something on the Sunday if it's fine. If my wife has finished assignments, etc.

Weather forecast for Sat looks to be better than Sunday at the moment.

There's a "fashion parade" on one of the two days for womens' gear I'm told - anyone know by chance what time/day that is. My wife would love to check it out.

Thanks GSXF.
