I was taking a right hand turn at an T interesction onto some street in old Albany tonight, Before I did, I checked both ways, a yellow Mazda (or something I donno cars) went past to the left and it was clear both ways. I pulled out and turned right and after about 6sec I noticed a Bike behind me.
Edit: I was on my bike btw.
Edit: By the way, this intersection is on a hill, so you can see up hill on the right, but only about 20m to your left.
Upon stopping at the lights, I went up the left and he up the right of the cars.
The rider was on a red Daytona 675 (which looked hot as I might add), told me to "look before I pull out". I did, and I didn't see anything.
I do feel that the rider must of been going over 50 as they come from nowhere and onto my 6 pretty quickly.
So if it is anyone here, sorry, but I think you should watch your speed.

You'll have own that one dude. As harsh as it sounds, you've probably fallen for the old motion camouflage/concentrating on the bigger threat routine.
Every person who pulls out in front of a bike says the same thing - he must have been speeding.
What happens is that a motorcycle doesn't increase its apparent size in relation to the background until it is MUCH closer than a car. This is a method used by Dragonflies to stalk their prey. The brain sees the bike subconciously and disregards it as a threat because it is too small to be both close and a personal threat. In your case you had a car to worry about, so a big chunk of your processing power is devoted to the car.
You pull out when you think it is safe, but because your brain has dismissed the bike as a threat you just don't see it.
The average driver spends a 10th of a second checking each way at an intersection before pulling out.
Hoepfully you'll see what I'm saying and not remain convinced of your "righteousness". It's not a criticism because the human brain is really easy to fool. You have to be aware of how it can be fooled before you can counter it.
I'll bet you he wasn't moving faster than the traffic flow.

It may be a bit harsh......Indy says there was only 20m of visible road to the left of the intersection - this sounds inherently dangerous, but probably not dissimilar to the top of Dowse Drive.
At 50kph, would'nt the rider be travelling at 14m/s ? So if Indy pulled out a fraction of a second before the rider came into view, he would be 'on his 6' (bloody Top Gun...) pretty quickly.
