Well I'll be in Auckland for the Black Label Society concert and thought, I should do that cruisers only ride I've talked to a few of you about.

Note this is for ALL cruiser riders, Harleys, Yamahas, Kawasaki, whatever aslong as it's classed as a cruiser. One or two sportsbikes will be there and that's cause they're going to the concert aswell.

Meeting up at Shell Westgate at 12:00 noon and leaving at 12:30 saturday the 30th of September.

Then heading over to scenic drive and riding down to Waiatarua where we will turn off and head to Piha for a short break and maybe a pie if any of us are hungry. Then back in to Waiatarua and back onto scenic drive heading south to Titirangi where we group up again then go our own ways.

No offence to you sportsbike riders but every now and then us on cruisers get tired of playing catch up all the time and like to ride in a wolf pack.

Ok so far for the list is as follows,

Slashwylde
Crashe
Scorpygirl
Rhino
Crusa
DiggyDog
Big Dave (maybe)
Bruiser (maybe)
Macktheknife (maybe)
Heavenly.talker (if Mack comes)
Lias (maybe. Do it ya lazy! I still havn't seen your new ride)
Outlawtorn (maybe)
Cowboy
And Divot if he decides to pull a sickie.

And ofcourse me.

As Crashe says my harley is back and looking great with the new paintjobbie.

Went for a 75k hitout last week but my leg started swelling again so have decided not to ride again until my leg will fit into the johnny rebs. The way its going that will be in a few days or so. Sooooooooo leg not withstanding I'll be on the westy ride! (Thanks Waylander for the PM)

I've put up a couple of pics of the new look bike too.

Am looking forward to catching up with you all.

Cheers,
Bruiser

I might be able to get in on this but will have to see if I get healed enough first. The chopper should be nearly ready for the road by then too so it could be a goer.
I will keep you informed.

My attendance is looking more likelyish, because I'm giving serious thought to going to the BLS gig.. The only problem I have is accomodation for the night, because I dont want to try and ride home to Hamilton half pissed after the concert :scooter:

If anyone can accomodate a loud mouthed drunk (Me, not sarge!) and preferrably lives close to st james (or is going to the BLS gig!) let me know.

An update folks.
The ride will be cut a bit short as some want to head back into town by 2:30pm. So figure when we get to Piha we just run back and head into town then go our own ways from there.

Looks like you folk would have got a drenching out west today

Now that is the understatement of the year mate....

We all meet out at Shell westgate... it was so sunny and it was a great ride out to Piha Beach for a drink and a feed.

The boys had me lead the way as I am a westie I knew where I was going
It was a scorcher out there at Piha... Waylander was commenting that he wished he was wearing jeans instead of his leathers....

On the way back along Piha Road the heavens opened up and I mean really opened up.
It was so hard to see, the roads were getting a bit flooded in parts and the crap off the side of the road was washing all over it. I slowed right down to a snail's pace as it really was atrocious weather to ride in all the way back to Titirangi and half way to New Lynn.
Then there was blue sky again.

I was saturated all the way throu... Yep I was wearing jeans and leather jacket. As we pulled up to New Lynn lights I waved them on as they were heading into the city to Real Groovy records and then a ride out south.
I headed home to a nice hot shower. As it wasnt worth me to continue to ride and get any colder.

When I got home I managed to get my HD boots off and then I tipped out so much water out of them... YUK.

Nice to meet DingDong as well
Yep a few made it up from Hamilton and Tauranga for the ride.

So another cruiser ride in the near future would be awesome.

Waylander
1st October 2006, 22:07
Dingdong wasn't there Crashe lol. That was DiggyDog. Dingdong rides a black TLS.

Was a great weekend and a great ride. DiggyDog, sorry about the short ride and the drenching mate. Have to make it up to you sometime. Comming all the way up from Hamilton for that just doesn't seem worth it. But you looked like you had a good time and I hope you did.

Crashe set a good cruising pace that had everyone riding in well in thier comfort zones and no one having trouble keeping a line in any corner that I could see. Hot indeed out in Piha and riding around slow speeds trying to find a spot for a feed soon had my radiator fluid boiling over... But other than that the bike was doin great. Bit disapointed that the whole time all I could hear was the concert of low rumbling barks from Slashwylde and Lias' bikes. I need louder exhaust, but I got back at them by showing them just a little of what my bike is capable of once we got back on the Motorway headed to East Tamaki to get ready for the concert.

On the way back from Piha just before we hit the rain we were pasing a line of stopped cars on the opposite lane. Well the first few were stopped the ones behind not quiet as me and DiggyDog were suddenly allerted by the squeeling of tyres on tarmac. DD had made it passed them but I was right beside them when the two cars hit and got myself a inpleasant shower of glass. Nothing but glass luckily and none big enough to cause damage to my tyres so I passed by with nothing more than a faster heart rate.

Oops sorry about that DiggyDog

Gee I never saw no accident... but then I was leading the pack back as well.

Waylander - Hope you had no more problems with the radiator overheating etc.

Waylander
1st October 2006, 22:41
Yea the accident was when me and DD were at the back, him in front of me. The rest of you were well clear of it.

And no more troubles with the radiator though I have been rained on almost constantly since then.. so the bike would have been kept cool from that.
