torque eh? More cc generally = more torque.
Also V-twin or V4 = more torque, generally less top end. But in saying that you can run smaller sprokets to get the top end up on big v-twins as they have the torque to get you off the line.

and queue the IL4 people going on about how there thous are torquier than a big Vtwin, wont they dont mention is how that torque is all delivered right in one spot not from down low through the range like a twin!

Think you will find the 1k IL4s actually produce more torque than the vtwins

why not learn to ride good first? Get a 600 or SV650 and learn to ride it properly, not just blasting off in a straight line.
As for tyre shreading, you'll want to look at an inline four as V-twins have a slower pulse rate than an ILF and therefore tend to be gentler on tires (in WSBK anyway)
Big Torque?
TL1000R or S, S handles better apparently.
VTR1000
VTR SP (RC51) race version of VTR1000, probably out of your price range.
RSV1000R Italian V-twin race bike, 20k+ second hand.
Any 900cc+ Ducati
Then theres the hypersports (late ZX11, ZX12, Busa, ZX14, Blackbird)

Go ride a TL1000R or S and see what chews through tyres more. Those things have torque as soon as you open the throttle in any gear at any rpm. They chew through tyres like most people change their underwear because of the torque.

Clivoris, maybe your mother could teach RM how to ride properly so one day, when he saves enough money to buy the "talkiest" bike in the world, he'll know how to ride it.

She's a bit of a hoot, I reckon she'd be up for it. I remember her telling the salesman (about 30 years ago) that she wanted a fullface helmet. That way if her head got knocked off in an accident it would still be nicely contained.

What is a good and reliable website for looking up torque and horsepower figures for any kind of bike? Been lloking for one but can't find any.

Some of the aftermarket zorst makers are good for figures. Try some of those.

It's actually quite a capable road bike. Lean angle is its only shortcoming - but 'tis a road bike to me. Handles steers brakes and accelerates with the best of them.

Not so I'm afraid. Behold the attached scan of the dyno curves for ALL of the 1000's- CBR, R1, GSX-R, ZX-10R, MV F4S, 999 and RSV-R. With the exception of the 999, all of the bikes were tested on the same dyno. Note the light blue torque curve of the RSV-R popping its head up above the rest until 3000rpm, when it is upstaged by the CBR, the F4 takes over for a bit before the 999 pops up for all of about 100 revs before the GSXR shits all over all of them all the way from 4000 till just under 6000. The fours battle it out till their respective redlines, while the twins never get a look in.
Why? Buggered if I know! Maybe because there is more R&D money being poured into 4's at the moment??

Sure does! I still can't help thinking that Yamaha have gone in the wrong direction with engine development.
One thing I forgot to mention- fours also get to take advantage of the lower gearing their higher reving engines allow for.

It is not only about torque...... Crankshaft/Flywheel weight will have a major effect to...stored energy or something.
