Does anyone happen to know how much power a FXR150 Suzuki has?

I had heard about 20 horsepower but just noticed on the LTSA papers it says 22 KILOWATTS. :spudwhat:

22 Kilowatts is 29.48hp

on my website (http://fxr150.ws.net.nz/specifications.php) the fxr is listed as
20bhp@9900rpm

I got that stat from some forum posting that I can no longer find it was

"almost 20ps@9900rpm" (1ps=.9836hp)

also go get hold of a gps unit and check your speedo. Chances are that yours will be way out. Mine was reporting 60kph when my actual speed was only 50kph!

At the crank. Which is what I think you'll find on the LTSA reg docs for any vehicle, not BHP.

If I'm ever feeling like I need to burn $100 for no particularly good reason, I'm going to take my FXR down to #1 Cycles and get a base run on the dyno so that we have a definitive 'how much power does the FXR make' answer.

Yeah standard speedo is reading 7km faster than actual speed. Was designed that way for Malaysia.

That reminds me. I read the world record for power output per displacement for a normally aspirated engine is still held by a (1960s??) Honda 50 racer - 17 hp. That equates to 340hp/litre.
That means my FahrtSturm is down about 230 or so. :confused:

If *you* had a bike that never appeared in bike mags because it was a one-off Malaysian commuter model, so you had no idea of what its real power output was, wouldn't you be mildly curious?

If I want to know in great detail how a VTR performs, I just have to pop a query into Google. The same info just isn't there for the FXR.

For a 150cc four-stroke single it makes plenty of ponies. Is it as good as a GSXR600 with three spark plugs missing? Won't know until we get one on the dyno...

Mate even the CB125 has more (16hp factory quoted.) That was before they downrated them to 12.5hp in 1983(??) to 12.5 for the japanese learner market.
Speedos are made to read about 10% low so that the natural variation doesnt take it over the real speed for whatever percentage of bikes (probably 99% or something. All statistically worked out no doubt). The beemer reads 122kmh at 112 kmh. And probably also about 65 at 60
