Went up to Awakino for a couple of whitebait fritters & had a play with a keen RX8 on the way back. Then later this afternoon had a cruise around the hill with Jamo on his ST1100 (pic).

Now that picture on your thread is just wonderful, and what a pleasure to ride in Godzone.

Heads Up and Enjoy

trip over the divi with zeroindex and teflon yesterday. .. then today just a quick blat byself around the north waikato.
filled up at Whatawhata so I don't have to tomorrow, and saw 3 groups headed in different directions.
A gsxr6 headed north (blue) looked like he was breaking away from a pack. A classic duc (female rider) single seater, with another newer duc headed to raglan (filling at the gas station same time as me), and coupe of cruisers headed south ...
t'was the day for it :)

I went to the Motocross at Mercer today,up the east side of SH22,and down the west side, getting in a bit of gravel to keep me happy.I was hot at home, but soon cooled off on the road....still pretty cold out there.Wet and dry roads in the morning, with wet patches in the shade even in the afternoon. All in all a great day to be on a bike.

Bull - I walked all around there for 4 hours - you've got some young crumpet on the side of something - cause you were not at the motocross.

I'm uploading some pics of the day now. - lots of crowd shots - nada motu.

As you will see by my profile, I aim to cover some ground over the next few years. Hasn't this got to be the best country to ride?

Had a quick look at the Motocross yesterday as well! A great turnout and very good location right next to SH1. Hopefully it drew lots of spectators throughout the event.

Coming over the top of the Bombays I passed a stationwagon with a white poodle in the back looking around. Then I realised that this "poodle" was a pet LAMB on an outing!
(and me without any mint sauce...)

Today the chain needed warming up prior to the applicant of lubricant... so "around the block" became a run up Old Nth...

Loads of bikes out. Lots of waves and nods... You just have to grin! No cagers wave except if there is a kid in the back!

A great weekend.

Did an early morning ride from City to Takanini. Day was just beautiful - fixed up the hidey hole for my ride and then rode out to visit friends! Went via Alfriston, Botany and saw other bikers out on a nice Sunday ride (just like me!) Visited a couple of friends in Pakaranga and Remmers, all marvelling and shaking their head at my Hornet (they are all cagers). Rode home taking the long way back around 6.30pm via Remmers, Penrose, Mangere, Manuwera. No traffic, visor up and puttering at legal road speed all the way. Bloody marvellous! :sunny:

Great to hear the other rides people have been up to!

Jeez - I've never seen so many hot looking chicks at a motorcycle meeting in my life! Some of them even stood next to me.....that's pretty unusual too.I parked my bike in someones pit, blended in well.....but I was hoping I didn't see it in a race!
I was looking at all the photo hounds, but didn't see you - how long was your lens? They get bigger every year.

Yep, I did the tour to the top of the Coromandel (both sides) and then to Thames, and then thought what the hell I might as well keep going back to Napier!!

Did anyone see the Ole XR250 on the limit for 4 hours
A good ride, except for the last leg into Napier, Rain and the temp in the minus!!!

Pics and report to follow, including the fire I had!!:gob:

Wheeled the ST out and Jude had a demo VT750 to try out, so Tauranga > KAimai's > Matmata > Te Arha via the n i c e backroad, to Paeroa, met an Ak Mate (TRX850) for lunch, then he and I swapped bikes to Kopu - quite different really! - Then home via the OLD Tauranga road. Awesome ride, and lots of waves returned! :)

Yeah I parked the Buell in the pits too. Nobody raced it.

MacKay calls it 'lens envy'.

Well I left home at 10 and headed towards the Taka's. Said hi to Mr and Mrs Hitcher at Caltex Rimutaka and headed up the hill. Halfway up to the summit the rain came down, albeit lightly. But then it got worse so I sat at the Summit Cafe and drank tea and yarned with a random guy from Carterton, you always meet some interesting people when your out riding! Saw Mr and Mrs H ride past the summit in the rain, very brave of them I thought....

As it turned out it was lucky I went out yesterday, on my way home I called in to see a mate in Petone. When I got there Ferg from TSS turned up at the same time... Got talking and I mentioned that my bike was running poo-like and I thought it may have been the spark plug. Ferg happily opened TSS up for me and gave me a new one. Free of charge, awesome! Now the bike is running sweet again. Well except for the fact that my headlight doesnt work on low beam at the moment, ah well.....

The Central Districts Motorcycle Touring Club had a run from Palmerston North to the Fireman's Arms in Petone but my shoulder was playing up (torn rotator cuff) so I flagged it. About 11am it looked so good outside that I wheeled the bike out and discovered the riding position was okay and didn't hurt my shoulder so I headed south. Gorgeous in Levin but by the time I got to Porirua it was drizzling and certainly several degrees colder.

Only saw one cop - and that was when I was using the T2 lane at Paremata to pass a huge line of vehicles - whoops! But he didn't bother coming after me so that was okay. Got to the pub just as everyone was leaving, so my husband said he'd head up to the top of the Rimutakas with the rest of them and then come back down and ride home with me. Called and saw my mum and had a nice hot pie and a cuppa before heading home about 2.30pm.

Got warmer as we headed north and I had a blast on the Goose. Heaps of cops between Paraparaumu and Waikanae - one attended an accident by Mussell Boys (I didn't even see him - I was passing everything down the middle of the road!), one giving a guy a ticket by Southwards, and two between there and Waikanae - then one setting up a checkpoint at Otaki.

First time I've been on the bike since jaw surgery in June - the jaw was a little sore last night from the helmet but it was great to be riding again! I didn't see many bikes heading south, but quite a few when we were heading north. All the GN250 riders neglected to wave, as did most of the cruisers, but virtually all the sports bike riders and even a guy on a Harley waved back. Warned a few about the cops - they seemed to get the message okay.

Nowhere - I was fencing! f**ckin high tensile wire - bring back No.8!

Saturday we went across to Zadoks (140k from our place) then up to the Serpentine dam in the hills, Met another Kiwi on a Vulcan 1800 up there, then we all went to Mandurah for fish & chips, then back home - 420k for just "popping down the road"!
Even the local "around the block" is 100k, going to work is 200k...just gotta get used to the distances........
But - nice & fine 22 degrees - aah - late winter - don't you love it...

Took a run up to Crayfish City. Bit cold with the snow on Kaikoura's. The thing that amazed me I never even saw a cop car. No one...........up or coming back.
