I was wondering what you do if it rains???

He was going on about not needing a helmet or leathers etc but obviously it's no good in the rain unless you want to get completed soaked. Although it would be a laugh see someone dressed up in rain coat, gum boots etc driving round.

Or at night, Wearing sunny's at night ain't the most practical. So would probably have to wear clear glasses.

Might as well own a bike and be done with it. Lots cheaper and more fun - unless you're too scared of two wheels then I suppose it's probably not tooo bad.

Atom2 would be my ideal car. Its like a bike on 4 wheels. Only real men drive atoms.

What a wanker. was going on about power to weight ratio and how a bike just doesn't compare and then puts it up against a stock cbr600. I would have thought he'd put it up against a thou at least. And then the rider was fully nanaering it....

Sniper
28th August 2006, 11:24
He knew full well that a thou with a good rider would beat him, he just wasnt going to admit it.

A bit like trikes then?
The worst of both worlds, getting trapped in traffic and be able to get soaked when it rains. Each to their own though.

Yeah thats a bit wank eh!. Just like that homo Ketzal Sterling in his High Octane movies and how he compares 1000HP cars with stock standard bikes then goes on about how cars are faster. Complete Tosser!!

He went on about how this 'car' was 300bhp and 500kg - the honda is (near enough) 100bhp and 190kg. Comparatively less than the car. And the rider was not riding like he stole it...
No wonder the 'car' crossed the line first

look at the trolley that he drives.. a Ford GT, which he has said broke down a few times etc, and look at the amount of gas that uses.. he's obviously not a very bright puppy..

and then the thou's which have a much better power to weight ration like 1 to 1 or better. I know he is a prick when it comes to bikes. Hahahaha we should make a short program with a gixxer thou and all the tests he has done with bikes and cars. Put a half decent rider behind the handel bars and see what happens then get the BBC to screen it right after top gear.....

Come on lotto.

You guys are funny.

Firstly. This discussion was hashed out when the segment originally appeared. As has the one when he was at Nurenbegring.

Secondly. You guys are exactly why he takes the piss out of bikers so savagely. You get so up-in-arms so easily who wouldn't take the piss outta ya's.

I've seen Jeremy ride. Yes he can. Also by his own account, bikes are "too powerful" for him and scare the shit out of him.

He takes the piss out of everything and everyone, including himself.

I enjoy his show. It entertaining.

motorbikes just by design are limited by the rubber they can put on the tarmac.
= less traction = less braking + lower corner speeds than oversized gokarts.

I think it could be a different story if motorcycle companies worked on adding downforce to bikes. But there's a gentlemans agreement against that.

but you can't lean/lowside/highside a car....so they'll never replace motorcycles.

With the money he has, I don't think fuel expenses even come into the equation. And he has car manufacturers lining cars up at his doorway with new vehicles for him to drive, the GT probably only comes out once in a while. Anyway, as he said he always lusted after the original GT40 but could never fit in one, so this is the next best thing. And Ford obviously knew who they were dealing with, and sorted the car (mostly alarm problems) so that Jeremy was happy to take it back.

Here here! The show is a piss take on most things - hell even the three presenters cant agree most of the time. It is worth watching just to see some exotic machinery and see some british humor rather than the laboured predictable humor (mostly) that yank's seem to love.

I have not seen one of his shows that I would take too seriously.

So live and let live.

I still prefere a bike to a sports car :scooter:

not saying the fuel cost applies or anything, it was just on that one episode where they did their 'dream car mission', where they all took their favorite car on a ride (Clarkson took his D.R.O.F <-- Driver Returns On Foot), and they all had to keep stopping for him to fill his petrol tank.. although with petrol consumption, I suppose it is 'slightly' better than the Bugatti Veyron, which goes through petrol like there's no tomorrow (can't remember the exact rate, but something like 100litres <-- petrol tank) in something like 20-something minutes of flat-foot track racing?
