I think its gone to $11990 saw in a magazine today, but the Honda website still shows $10995.

I believe there is no difference between the two models. Maybe colour (red only) and thats about it. Push comes to shove the dealer will give it to you at the $10995 price.

Isnt this moot anyway BB?

Generally, moving up from 250cc, expecting look within the $11-14,000 range and all bikes considered seem to be in that range. The Hornet would be a good ride and at the original $10995 must say was tempting, but as mentioned there will be a lot of test rides in 07 for me.

most of the top sports bike in the last 5 years have been selling for good value second hand, why not look on the second hand market?

Gidday R6, haven't discounted that either. I get daily Trademe notifications, and so now thru 1st quarter 07 will be watching closely for some of the recent 04/05 models too.

WTF? It's still $1000 cheaper than it was two years ago. Check the prices of similar bikes, it's still a relative bargain.

Gidday Matt

yes thought that was the case, I flicked over to the other thread:

"My short-list was similar (SV650, VStrom, ER6, Hornet) and test-rode them all apart from the VStrom as I couldn't get a demo - SV & ER6 very similar in most respects, found the ER6 a bit easier to ride at low speed and the local Kawasaki dealer was much better. Liked the Hornet, just felt a bit too fast for me tbh - awesome engine though, first time I've ridden anything that revs so freely! and really wish my ER had the Hornet's mirrors!

Matt"

How long you been running with the new ER?

Had it nearly a month now, and it's in for it's 1,000km service at Motorad on Thursday this week. Really enjoying it, especially now I've fitted mirror extenders and wound up the rear suspension a bit (was far too soft for someone 100kg's +!) - there's some really good discussion/advice at http://www.ninja650.com/phpbb/ too (as well as here of course!).
