Man that 6 months has flown by - the little VTR has got about 6650K on the clock.
The test was pretty uneventful, apart from a couple of little traps the testing guy laid...

The first was going past a primary school/ped crossing - back to 25K

Second was entering a 100K area, to make sure I held 70K

So, the L-Plate is being taken off for the last time (hardly ever had it on anyway) - and BURNT (photos will follow)

Next step is Defensive driving course, and the Full test end of November/early December :ride:

He was what I would call a "silent assasin" - firm but fair - good thing I did a quick re-swot of the Motorcycle road code last night

Crazy Steve..

I still have another one - they come in packs of 2 :)

I dont plan on adding to the rubbish problem with the wrecked one - will probably shred it so the cat can use it in her dirtbox

Congratulations - hopefully that will be me in 2 months time - I have to keep the plate for my wife though as she got her learners 2 months after me. I don't remember seeing anything about Primary schools, pedestrian crossings and 25k in the road code?

I remember that you slow down for roadworks and for school buses (when parked).

I obviously will need to read it again.

Now you do know if you lose your licence for 12mths or more you have to resit the whole dam thing...

Been there done that..

Do you have to do the whole "wait 6 months" thang too?

Shit - if ever you needed an incentive to put a false licence plate on your bike and run away from the cops there it is.

I recall some change to the speed limit when passing schools (not necessarily Primary) that came in a while back - in any case, I erred on the side of caution, and slowed right down as I passed the school, with ped Xing right outside (In my view, slowing down whilst passing a school makes perfect sense).
The tester made a point of telling me afterwards it was a good thing...

Another thing to put into the back of mind for any upcoming 6R test-ees?

I didn`t have to wait 6mths..

But the 1st stop was the learners..Then straight to Full by doin the practical..

I was excempt because I had already held a class 6 Full Licence..

You will still need the the L PLATE but...

Thats natural... I had a hard time sleeping last night.

In the end, it came down to doing the basics right - there are plenty of threads on here about what you should and shouldnt do - very helpful indeed

While on the topic of sitting your restricted (sorry for stealing the thread, but i didnt think this forum needed another 'Restricted License Question' thread).

Is it possible to sit a restricted test on a 50cc Scooter - its capable of doing 65 - 70kph but then again if it can go over 50kph it shouldnt be rego'd as a Moped right?? (thats probably what the instructor will say)

Has anyone sat their test in the Medowlands/Howick AA place?

Any advice or info would be appreciated.

You have to sit it on a motorcycle registered machine. ie not a moped. Capacity is irrelevant, it can be a 50cc motorbike, or a scooter, but it must be regoed as a motorcycle.

Congrats Blairos, you know with what you said about the test and how the traps were laid, well done for that pass. I think I would have been resitting the test if it was me. Good on ya matey.
