Did/does this bike exist? I've tried looking for info on it but can't. My wife said she owned one and I saw pics of it but no one's seemed to have heard of it.
1976 Ducati desmoquattro 500cc. Colour - silver.
Thank you

Pre 79 Ducati made a 500 parallel twin with Desmodromic valve gear
Post 79 The 500 V-twin Pantah arrived, that progressed into the 600 then 650

They did a 500 GTL in 76, also a 500 Sport Desmo in 76 and a 500 GTV in 77, also a 500 Sport USA in 77. Probably the Desmo...50hp @ 8500rpm yeehaa:gob:

Epicycle used to race one,it was in a Performance Streetbike mag (can find and scan it if needed)
Some thought them unreliable, might have been rockers.

"Shockers" is a better word.
Ducatis answer to Suzuki's RE5, Yamaha's TX750 et al.

Generally regarded as not one of Ducatis better efforts.....

Definitely not Desmoquattro - they came out in the first 851 in 1987 or 1988.
Most likely a parallel twin I would think.
If I remember rightly the v-twin desmos were 750s, 860s and 900s back then.
Mind you, if I don't remember rightly this post is complete shit and should be ignored.

You do remember rightly, idb - There was a Sport Desmo (parallel twin) in the 70's, but it was a two-valve job. A Desmo, Yes, but definitely not a Desmoquattro.
