I don't know if this is in the right forum but i don't know where else to put it. But basically i'm a poor student and my dvd player has stopped working and since my bike is also brooken i'm running out of things to do. So if anyone knows anything about fixing these things here is the problem,
it won't read ANY of my dvds. It just stopped working. I have run a dvd cleaner disk so it is not the lense (or shouldn't be if the cleaner worked) and i dont know what to do, says loading disk makes that wurring sound then after about thirty seconds it says NO DiSK. I'm pretty sure its not the disk either cause I've tried about thirty different dvd disk and same thing on all dvds.
any help would be appreciated.

Dude, if any one clever enough tells you what is wrong with this, let me know, as mine is doing the exact same thing you described.

$150? You're getting ripped off.
Try $60 (http://www.pricespy.co.nz/cat_9.html) for a dvd writer, or $40 for a reader.

Most likely culprits are a rooted lens or laser. On most cheap DVD players they simply arent worth fixing.. If its a real brand one (Sony, Panasonic etc) you could try taking it to an authorised repair agent but otherwise yer prolly out of luck.
