Passed my restricted today :D

And what a beautiful day for it! Wasn't too sure this morning in the pouring rain, but it cleared up wonderfully :)

I was so nervous, but the guy was great - very clear, very helpful and totally supportive.

Woo hoo! Now I can legally do the speeds I have been doing over the past 18 months...... (well, not the ones above 100...ssshhhhh)

:D

Yeah, no point upgrading til I can get something bigger. It's not out of choice tho....dictated by finances as always **sigh**

Well done JCM - are you doing the 'Defensive' driving thingumy too so you can sit your full in 3 months' time?

Nah, in all honesty I'll probably leave it longer than the 6 months anyhow before I sit my full. I need to know Wellington's roads a lot better than I do to feel confident being tested on my riding on them.

And we can't afford to upgrade in all seriousness - not both of us. I'd rather Dave got a bigger and better bike first and we'll sort something out for me down track. No point having the full if you can't afford to upgrade! May as well save the licence test fee and do it all at once :)

Suit yourself - me and the missus share one bike anyway so I hope to upgrade at the same time as she does!

Did you get my message about Mentors by the way?

Congratulations..........when I sat my full about a hundred years ago.........the guy gave me very precise instructions of what route to take..........basically round the block......the first turn I took was the wrong direction.... thats when i got really nervous!! did the block totally the wrong way round.....got back to the start......lovely cop said i did really good hand signals.....:blip: and if he was required to give a pass for direction following i would have failed....

You guys have to go through so much ummmmmmm "stuff" to ride........

LOL, could be a funny-looking cut'n'shut if you don't upgrade at the same time as her :D

Yeah, I read the stuff you posted about mentors - thanks heaps for looking that up for me. Really appreciate it. I will make contact next week sometime with the guys you've mentioned and see if they have any spare time for me. I'm about to start a part-time job tho, so my own spare time is going to be severely limited :( Ah, the joys of mortgagedom....!

Not yet. Was late when I got home and was more bothered about checking out hubby's busted elbow. I'll take it off in the morning before I leave for work. It's a bit scary actually - never ridden without it! I'm used to it giving me a bit of leeway with cars - they see the L-plate and make concessions for me cos I'm 'only a learner'! LOL

Huh - I've found that my L-plate somehow causes cars to think they should get all up my tail pipe. Especially when I first started riding - some very aggressive cagers out there.

Now they can get up my tail pipe - but only if they can keep up...

Heh heh heh...

GOOD ON YA FOR GETTING TO 6R! I will pick your brains about the test since mine's in 6 weeks!

All the best JCM!

LOL, I know! On a GN.....who'd have thought?!!

Been signed up for ages - wasn't going to let a silly old L-plate stop me :D The thing that's going to hold me back is my cornering ability so everyone's going to have to bear with me I'm afraid!
