Hello.

I purposely didnt specifyied model specified... It applies to probably all recent suzukis (if not all). I got a 250cc bandit.
anyways, question regarding regarding engine oil.

by the fill plug it say 2900ml, which i presume means that the thing requires 2.9L of oil. HOWEVER there is "310ml" casted on the oil filter housing. the exact value I'm not sure, but there is one. So does that mean that if changing oil and filter (i dot that every time) I'm supposed to pour in 2900+310ml ? = ~3.2L ?

reason I'm asking, last time i was changing oil, I poured so that through the 'oil check viewer thingy' It looked like 'full' (with bike standing upright, not on the stand).... but after first ride oil level was way abouve the full mark. So i just dont know which works... and which shoiuld i use as a guide.

my cam chain is kinda rattly (probably tensioner), but i'm told they all do that... can anyone confirm ?

Thanks in advance,
Mops.

We know from experience with Mrs H's Marauder that more oil is required than what is written on the crankcase -- about 600ml more, from memory.

My TLs has the same 3100 stamped by sight glass.without filter change its 3100 with its 3300.i tend to go more by the sight glass myself as TLs dont like having to much and tend to fire it into air box.

When you change the oil and filter, put 3 litres in then run it and check the level. Top up as needed. Don't overfill.
