Hi Guys

I passed my restricted this morning, and was way easier than I expected! No faults at all, and only took 15mins in Chch rush hour (lol) traffic! Took it from the Shirley AA office in Chch.:done:

Interesting thing was that he took me to an 80km speed limit, I sat at 70kms and was sweet cos traffic was pretty built up anyway! He reminded me at the start not to speed, but just interest to see if others have had this done to them?

I also failed the eye sight test at the AA branch, but when at the optometist (spelling) in the weekend, he said my eyes were fine for normal license, but no HT. Have others failed cos of eye sight? I would suggest next eye checkup get your eye doctor to look at them as you may be fit without the need of glasses/aids.

For those in Chch, I may be able to remember the route, so if you want I can draw it up on a map and post it on here.

Now...to think of ways to destroy the dreaded "L" plate......

Well done on the test. But before you go and destroy the "L" plate try offering it to others on the site. I was diligent and wore my "L" plate through out the learner stage, which resulted in it being weathered. I then gave it to a mate who didn't use an "L" plate while on his learners but he needed one on his bike for passing his restricted. The fact that the one he used had been in the elements gave credibility (i.e. deceived the instructor into thinking it had been on the bike for the duration).:shit:
I don't condone messing with our laws (although, from experience, being restricted to 70kms is more dangerous on our roads than a learner at 100km - impatient cars will force you off the road) but he was a mate in need and I had what he needed.

I got mine a week or so ago - this (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?p=736654#post736654) is what I did with my L-Plate :)
DDC is under way - 11 weeks and counting till the Full test

Yeah, the instructor asked me how often I wore my plate, and I said that I didnt (this was the first time also!)! This was after he had given me my temporary license tho! He said that not many people wear them as ppl in cars seem to see them as a target!
