Shaun, being a gixer rider you should know that one bad bike doesn't mean that all gixer's are crap. After all, we hear that all the time about gixer's.

Surely the same goes for magazines and newspapers.

Then once again I'll say that's more than likely not the actual bike. As for MCN, I have to agree with Shaun on this one. Time will tell however, release of 'official' pics can not be far away.

Some people personally don't like under seat exhausts.

And the japanese over all havn't really learn the art of styling under seat exhaust very well either.

Hmmm... that numberplate off to the side seems like a good idea if you want to keep your rear nice and clean.
Anyone know if it will pass WOF inspection, or draw unneccesary attention from the plod?

But it looks ugly, so any WOF guy with taste will knock it back straight away.

interesting wonder what engine they have put in the BBking the 1k or the 1300

and twin pipes on a sports bike, how silly is that.

'K7 GSX-R1000: 3 way ECU with 3 different settings on the handlebar: Sports mode, Wet mode and Normal. Much in the same way as on the highest spec Benelli TNT to control the power delivery. In effect traction control! Upgraded chassis, more power etc. More detail later.'

Heh, but totally here what you're saying... can't believe they made a sports tourer out of the gsxr1000 :Pokey:

Ok ok, enough winding up certain GSXR1000 riders

06 may be the pinnacle for a few years, whilst they figure out how to make them more powerful and still satisfy the EU laws. I'm guessing that the GSXR1000 is now carrying around two large catalytic converters... why else would they rape it like that?

I wonder if Tom the pohm is gonna be rushing down to the nearest Suzuki dealer to get another K6? or is he gonna ride another beast?

onearmedbandit
22nd September 2006, 10:50
Actually, after looking at some other pics I'm not that against it, except the exhaust. Asthetically it would've been better for one side exhaust and one under seat, but Suzuki seem reluctant to go down that well trodden path. I remember when the K5 came out and that exhaust polarised opinion, I was one of the ones who liked it. Now on the new model I don't, but wait a couple of months and there will be a great choice of aftermarket systems available.

Some people are claiming the switchable ecu as a form of traction control, unless it has speed sensors on the drive train to detect slip it ain't no tc system, just a method of smoothing out the power delivery. Anyone else notice the hydraulic clutch?

Finn

AMA new rules state that bikes are allowed TC as long as they come factory with it, so that includes speed sensors and such, (The rules stipulate that OEM bikes can run Traction control if they come with some form of it from the factory, IE wheel speed sensors and stuff of that sort.)

So if they are first out of the bad for it be interesting. really have to wait know more in a few days after few guys been to the USA dealer show, and can release the information the have got

----
Twin pipes is strange but i understand it, suzuki know 90% of people will put after market ones on anyway,

With the K7 coming out the left over K6's should drop in price a little so it may be better to wait till the K7 hits the shop floors.

On the other hand they may need to discount the K7 because its so ugly and I can't see them being as sought after as the K5 and K6, and the K6 might stay in demand and hold its current value.

Hmmmmmmmmm

,

All I'm saying is that it's been claimed to be a 'switchable ecu map', which doesn't mean it's traction control. I hope it is, as I see this as being the next big step forward on sports production bikes.

True what you say about the exhaust, most will drop the original for a new system. I, on the other hand, just bought a std GSXR thou exhaust off trademe for $100 (mint condition), in case the wof guys give me any grief. For $100 I can't complain for a mint titanium can (01-02 model).

My thoughts exactly, go the cbr:buggerd: !!

I dunno, after seeing the new Fireblade I'm startig to wonder if they are all going to look very similar with the only difference being the logo decals put on the side of the sportsbike. I was going to wait for the 07 bikes before I brought a new one. Now I'm more than satisfied that getting the 05 model was infact the correct thing to do. Woof woof!!:buggerd:

I remember how much flak Suzuki got when they released the GSX-R750J with twin pipes.
The next year it got a single pipe.....

What did they do at the TT???

Sorry, I missed this

They sent in undercover reporters as flag marshalls so they could act like police men so they could write a story about how bad thje TT was managed

Imagine if there was a true incident where these so called fully trained marshalls were, say no more,

Total arse wipe paper material
