I have an early 1980s DR500S. It's the road version but I am doing it up for off-road only.
I want to junk the 6 volt battery and run without. Does anyone know of a link to a wiring diagram for a bike to run without a battery? Will the CDI / voltage regulator work without the battery? What kind of capacitor do I need instead of the battery, where would I get one, and how do I wire it up?
Any ideas appreciated.
