I see Rossi is finally getting serious...

He knows he can deal with Hayden, so is getting stuck into the little man... good work.

Man, those times are SO close - two-thirds of the field within 1 second of each other. Should be a good battle; it's not quite as much fun when you're just watching the two at the front.

It'll be a great qualifying session this afternoon as long as it doesn't rain. It's overcast over there right now. And must of the top riders haven't ridden a qualifying tyre yet... Vale is usually good for another half a second when he dumps one of those donuts on the rear end.
Really pissed that I'm not there with the rest of the crowd as planned, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
And reports are that there were 20,000 in attendance yesterday... i think that might have to be some sort of record.

Rossi finally out on the track, 20 mins into the session...
Marknz
16th September 2006, 16:34
Capirossi the fastest through every sector on the half hour, but he had to get off the throttle coming on the straight. That cost him a few tenths. Gibernau still on top at this stage

16th September 2006, 16:36
Top 10 after 30 minutes are Gibernau, Nakano, De Puniet, Rossi, Capirossi, Roberts, Elias, Checa, Edwards, Hayden. But as we all know, all the real action comes in the last 20 minutes.
Marknz
16th September 2006, 16:37
De Puniet to first with a 1.30.03. Remember he was first on Friday with a .29 that is still the fastest time of the weekend, and on Bridgstones too.

16th September 2006, 16:47
Nakano first into the 29s, 1m29.82 after 40mins

Hayden into the 29s with 11mins remaining, but Nakano still at the top of the timesheet.

16th September 2006, 17:00
Hayden with a 1.29.02 moves into first place... top five now Hayden, Roberts, Nakano, Checa, Stoner
Rossi runs off while on a quick one with his qualifier on... could be in trouble and currently 9th fastest
Marknz
16th September 2006, 17:01
Rossi to second, 1m29.271. Edwards to fourth 1m29.68

Session fnished and riders out on their final lap.... final qualifying times will be up shortly

Great result for Bridgestone... Nakano 2nd and De Puniet 9th,
Front row Hayden, Nakano, Rossi.... Second row Roberts, Edwards, Checa.... Third row Melandri, Stoner, De Puniet
Arguably the biggest surprises will be Capirossi on the front of the 5th row, Pedrosa on the front of the 4th row, and Charlie Chucker Checa in 6th outright.
But that's it now. It all means nothing really come this time tomorrow.

Was a brilliant session. Rossi ran off the track on the warm up lap after he came in for his last qualifier. Can't wait for the race, should be a good one. Good to see that little ankle biting midget well down the field too.

Change of plan. Selfish old me is off to the pub to watch the Wgtn v Cant game, and will not be around to provide updates. I too will be steering clear of all media to try and ensure I get to see the racing tonight on Prime 'live'.

I don't really understand why a lot of people don't like Pedrosa. Is it tall ??? (ironic) poppy syndrome ?
The man has done better than most in his first year, and you have to admit, he does ride one hell of a nice bike ;)
