Here's my scenario. Don't call the cops, hide the car till daytime, do some speed runs past a speed camera, then park it in a clamping area. There is no way anyone would pay money to get that car out of jail! You already wrote it anyway, $800-900 to fix that lot-on a $600 car. My neighbour runs an impound yard, they get the cars after 30 days to dispose of as they like. Assuming no-one fronts to claim/pay for them. He usually flattens them with a digger on principal. ie he doesn't want to see them back on the road.

btw..Ammonia in the fuel tank just stops the engine full stop, injected or carbd itll take a mechanic weeks to work out what the problem is.
Also egg is almost impossible to get off a car when its dried as well.
