Hi,
After completing my first Coro loop on the weekend I have had an idea......
Wouldn't it be cool, considering New Years is a Sunday night, to arrange a huge MF meetup at a camping ground at say Whitianga on say the Saturday, get on the piss Saturday night, do the loop on Sunday, then get on it hugely on the Sunday night, then either stay or go on the Monday/Tuesday as everyone sees fit.
We could arrange area specific meetups for the ride to the grounds on the Saturday, big group ride Sunday, then smaller groups for the trip home.
Thoughts?
Am guessing that now would be a good time to start the wheels in motion, see if we can get some decent numbers, maybe even some sponsors, get a discount on the grounds, and have an F'in huge tent city shin dig with awesome peeps.
What do ya reckon?

Good idea in principal. The drawback is that camp grounds tend to be family friendly and don't want a gang of nasty leather-clad bikies....

The Coro Loop is nuts over Xmas/New Year and bloody hopeless for riding a bike-shocking traffic. I ride up to our bach on Xmas Eve and it doesn't come out again until after New Year. Of course, if you just fancy getting on the turps and chasing teenies, then Whitianga or Whangamata is the place for you:innocent:
A lot of the camping grounds are already booked solid.

If the riding is no good there at that time of year, what about northland, or bay of plenty?
There must be somewhere we can cause mass disruption, and get some riding in.
Re-the leather clad, maybe we don't mention we are bikers, and all book individually? Or.....get a KBer with a spare paddock?

Going round East Cape is about the only relatively crowd free spot at Xmas. Roads to die for (not literally I hope) and good camping spots.

Hell no.....cupla duzzy more like.......:killingme
Tis' a great idea, but to get into a camp ground at the time you want to is not going to happen, we have been going to the same camp ground now for 4 years and we cant get in over that period.....:done:
