Change of date for fourth round of the Championship
Round four of the SsangYong New Zealand Superbike Road Race Championship will now be on the 24th & 25th February 2007, this decision comes after considering many factors:
World Superbikes being held on the 3rd & 4th March 2007 at Phillip Island
The A1 GP at Taupo and the race dates of the Tier 1 V8 car series during this period of the year
After discussions with the North Island circuit owners about availability at this time of the year, and the 24th & 25th February was the only alternative date available.
Responsibility to sponsors whom without their support our championships will fall back into the level of racing 5 or 6 years ago and given where we are today, it is important to move forward with the format of the Championships.
Spectators traveling to watch the World Superbikes.
Given all of the above we still tried to see if it was possible to find a period where there were two consecutive weekends available for the championship, unfortunately this was not possible.
