Here are the first pictures of the 2007 Kawasaki range,
Including the all-new ZX-6R,
Updated ZX-10R and ER-6
New GTR1400

The ZX-6R is new from the ground up, including the engine, with the era of the 636cc motor replaced by a 599cc engine which will still have enough power to compete. (have they relised by cheating with cc doesn't help them) Still an interesting front end, looks very narrow

Meanwhile the GTR1400 shares an engine with the ZZR1400(zx14), but power will be transmitted via shaft drive. (could be a very interesting bike) Just think of z zx14 with hard bags shaft drive, and retuned a bit for low end grunt

Roadrocket steered me to a Yank site yesterday with pics of the new ZX6R. The side view looks much better but that front look does nothing for me. Their pics were from MCN (the UK mag?) which had the banner '120hp'. Guess they mean at the rear wheel since the 636 claim was 126hp before ram air assists.
Chances of a surprise 750 launch from kawasaki are fading...:weep:
Time to test ride a GSXR750 me thinks. Not interested in a Jap 1000.

WHat is the obsession with those tiny little headlights?

I think Kawasaki have taken a wrong turn here dumping the 636 without a replacement/alternative - unless you go all the way up to a 1000.
I was hooked on the 636 for it's low & mid range grunt that was not a disappointment compared to a 1000. All this packed with 600 nimbleness. Now what? Join the 599cc race class. The new bike has no point of differentiation over the other jap 600s now. This will lose them sales and especially those road-based riders who rated more torque over being in the race class. That's what made the 636 the top seller in the 599-636 range for the last 2 years. Bye bye big sales. How clever was that? I doubt many 636 owners will see any benefit in trading in for the 599cc 07 model. I certainly don't. And now I'm told GSXR750s are not being brought in to NZ!
Well lucky my 636 keeps me so happy. A 675 would be nice but in the end it's not worth the $$ needed to change form bike A to Bike B when they are near identical performance wise.
Interesting that on KawiForums.com the same feeling came across from many who were only interested in changing from a ZX6R to 750, not a 1000

Whos dumb idea is that?!

Thought they sold in fairly large numbers? Since they are the better road bike out of the three (600 ,750, 1000)

Im struggling with the whole idea. But I will wait to see the reviews before I commit to anything.

I hear what you're saying MD, I'm guess that they get more sales via the bikes that end up on the track (or rather, were losing more?) by going the homologated 600cc? Does seem bizzare though, shame we're not seeing a 750cc, or 800cc motogp relipca. I suspect that that will come before too long though (a light weight 800cc motogp replica), and they're putting there dev $$$ into that, which is why we're a little light on options at the moment (that and the euro emission laws slowing power progress down). Of course, the drop back to 600cc may merely have been because of some regulation, and being over 600cc may have put them into a legislation bracket that was less than desirable.... conjecture though, I've no idea what the real reason is sorry.

do they come in orange?
foooooook yeah :yeah:

I agree with the comments on the 636 being ditched, but the power output of a 599cc is getting pretty mental. The R6 has the same (if not, more) output (claimed) then the current 636, so they may have a new trick up their sleeve for the new ZX6. I don't think sales will slump too much tho, cos there's some people who always want the latest greatest. It'll be interesting. And yeah, just catching up on the comments meself from KF.com. Did think there may have been an 800cc bike, but then that really makes the line between the thou and 6 fuzzy..

800cc could be an ideal compromise Buggy.
While the Custard has been in the shop my loaner a 600cc has made me reavaluate the ideal bike.
600 is small and handles well, but with a noticable deficit in torque.
1000 is stable but not as flickable, and frankly power is to much!...never having to try.
Bring on the 800cc bikes :2thumbsup

but that's why you had 750s.. bigger mota in a smalla 600 frame.. The thous I've had a play on, don't seem to handle the town stuff as well as the 6's too, so that was an issue for me. Haven't tried the 750 yet
what about fitting a quick nitro kit for the lack of torque

Didd the Loop today two up on a ZXR1400, very nice and easy to ride, yes even in the twisties, fuel wise left hams on a full tank and got to Whitianga with 70km left and that got me home filled her up again $24.00 , round trip about $50, not bad eh?
Very comfy, cant be fucked writing a review (everyone can find one already) but I can say its a excellent all round bike!!

maybe this rumoured zx800r....might be the reason for making the 6363 a 599 and having a thou aswell??

Tiny ugly headlights. Like the exhaust better than the 05-06 ones though.
