People on the mustang forums admit getting the learn from bikes! Haha!

I pulled a car length on an r1 with 2 people on it before he made me have to squint to read his license plate after a couple hundred feet...

Bloody merkins are obsessed with straightline shit. Bikes are about CORNERS.

... Bikes are about CORNERS.
Aaay? :Pokey:
4 patches of the hard black rubber stuff VS. 2 thin patches.
Cars > Bikes round bends - always.:crybaby: Corners definately build for bikes though - so much fun!
Them folks in the US of A do seem to be somewhat obsessed with straightline stuff - their cars always get ragged on TOPGEAR.

i have an 89 GT 5.0 back home .. built for 1/4 mile drags .. she will hold with a Busa no problem..
yes shes heavily modified vs a stock Busa .. got about $8000 US in the drivetrain and another $3000 in the frame and suspension .. paid $14000 for the car new
cant and wont turn with any sports bike but the G forces coming off the line will pull the wrinkles out of a hippo

If it's a barge
ANY car, I guess it's all the steering-wheel twirling, rowing the gearstick, bracing yourself etc, all seems like there's a lot more big movements going on compared to the changing of gear, braking etc on a bike.

Need to take my little FTO for a blart through the twisties some day.
It's quite a fun car to drive - as far as fiddling with the controls - I find shifting gear can be done totally on autopilot. (it's a manual before you ask - I can drive - I don't need a machine to tell me what gear to be in!)
I'm still learning to ride twisties at pace on the bike having been in the saddle for only 4 & 1/2 months.
From a standing start my 250cc VTR ripped some kid in a 300bhp Skyline the other week though. Power to weight ratio is everything.

the guy in the skyline must've been a shit driver, no offence to the vtr but I killed many a two fifty in my skyline, nearly 400bhp@the crank, a 300bhp@the wheel shoulda beaten you. I kept up, for a little while, with my mate on a zxr250 and i was in a 1600cc nissan sentra staion wagon.

Around 200mph is the real barrier to HP vs CoD
Once in that range adding a whole lot of HP aint doing jack to your top speed.

So what is the top speed of a 250VTR??
And my 'lorry' has 400hp+ and does over 200kph, I doubt if it would get there with 250hp, it's a real 'brick' in the aerodymanic aspect.:(

We gave a good spanking to a new 636 yamaha the other night on the highway.....Thougth we would lose but there was none of that in sight and neither was the bike.We raced from 40 to 120 and the cobra pulled a couple lenths on him....96 cobra built 4v with a T-trim making over 600rwh
Yep those 636 yamahas are crap........

Cornering on a bike is ballet, cornering in most cars is hip-hop.

Especially these new 4wd turbo Evos and WRX's. Bloody incredible technology...but any pants low, IQ low, sense low muppet can pilot one at a pretty decent pace...what you say sums it up pretty well Lou.

Ah, but up to what speed though??
It was in traffic from the lights - speed limit was 70kph - I took it to 75 and throttled off - dumb fuck nearly ran into the back of me - he was a little runt so if I'd ended up on his bonnet I'd have dragged him outa the car by the ankles and swung him round my head banging his head on his car at the apex of each arc.
It was actually inadvertent - I was just pulling away from the lights as I normally do (fairly briskly so as not to get in anyone's way) and he was revving the guts out of his nissan which was when I realised he was gonna try to close me down and ram me sideways - hence I went for it and got in front of his nose (we were running out of 2 lanes - Chapel Road southbound Auckland)
I never exceed the speed limit in town. I have kids - I respect other peoples' children's right to life.

Just read in one of the latest NZ Hot Rod mags that the asking price of a primered, ratted interior, not run for last 10 years fastback 'stang in California as $13,000- $15,000!!!! (I guess that is at the popular swap meets like Pomona)
No wonder I never bought one last year!
The '66T-bird now seems a bargain at $4,600US!!

I know where there's a 65 notchback, no rust, factory 6 cyl (good runner) in bad need of a paint job... there's even an injected 302 waiting to go in it
