I dunno what sort of wierd porn you guys look at but over here, the word Kyeta has no association with porn. I just thought might interesting in having a look at our bikes.

I love WR's, thanks for the pics. Kiwi Riders long term eval of the WR250 was nothing but praise of a bullet proof bike.

The white Yamaha's....maybe that's why I have one too.I always wanted a WR200 when they came out,KR used to give good reports on them. The DT230 is pretty closely related to them.

I dunno about porn (ok, I do, but not on this thread ok?) but you are talkin' all sexy like now! I love the old IT's, I always thought owning an IT465 would be a nice way to die. They're worth a quid now, eh?

The IT250 is my brothers, but it's all in pieces at the moment. We had a big bike rally in a rectangular paddock infront of my house today. The bikes that turned up were: An '90s RM250, '90s CR250, '86 YZ125, '86 YZ250, '05CR250 and my brother got his WR200 out and dad got the IT465 out. The old IT creamed 'em all and the RM was about the only decent challenge for it. Blokes just love thrashin their bikes around this paddock! It is basically a rectangular track that goes along a straight and over a hill, around a corner and back down the paddock, around a corner and back up the hill... If that gives you a good idea of it.

I had an 86 YZ250 as well. And check out my TT600 in my first ever MX meet. Got the hole shot in every race.

I rode a WR500 back in '92 when they were new,it was set up as a flattracker, and I rode it on our dirt track. It wasn't as scary as I thought - because I just couldn't get the thing to hook up.It felt nice, and strong smooth power everywhere, unlike the explosive banzai IT490,or at least that's how I remember it....

Heres the bike I learned to ride on. A Kawasaki. Back in the days when you could ride a bike on a public beach and no one cared. This is at Snells beach while on holiday. Rode up and down the beach every evening until dark.
By the way, this bike belonged to Andy Lewis, now manager of Red Baron Motorcycles.

Ha ha Awesome one Greg!! Showing your age a bit though!!! LOL
The Old IT's were funny bike, chain on the wrong side........
I think that the older bikes like the IT490's were so god dam scary cause they didn't have the power valves so when you hit the power band it was like an explosion of power trying to rip your amrs out of there sockets! that was one of the big things I found with the difference on the RM compaired to the likes of my brothers old KDX250 and my old IT175. That bike was gold until I had some retard rebuild it and he managed to bend the crank and it chewed the shit out of the bearing housing. then the high rev coil had a wire pop off so it would only rev to 1/3 of it's possible revs. Man it was so annoying trying to jump a bike that putts out!! It took so long to find that too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the old bikes were great, you could just ride them and drop them without a worry, now I shit mself every time cause I think I'm going to bugger my radiators!!!!!!

I think the only IT with the chain on the wrong side was the IT200. Correct me if I'm wrong, but our IT250 and 465 both have their chains on the right side.

what's the difference between a WR and YZ?
Motu
25th September 2006, 17:09
There was certainly one if the small motors with the chain on the right, because they were popular with the kart guys - and there were always YZ's and IT's minus motors going cheap. But it was a mission to put anything else into them....graft another swing arm I think.
WR - wide ratio,for enduro's.

WR's also had a heavier flywheel so it didn't stall as easy and was made more to a detuned standard unlike the YZ which is made to either be going full throttle or stopping.

The link in the first post doesn't work anymore. Go to http://www.tygi.us and click on the bikes page. I'll get some IT's on there soon.
