Just another day.....

I quite often beat myself up over things that dont matter but today I feel it appropriate. After I finished work I hopped on my bike as normal but today I get this funny litltle sick feeling in my stomach and I think maybe I should ride home the "long" way tonight, the weathers gross and its pretty yucky on the roads. But I ignore this and continue over Aro hill (Raroa Rd) as normal. I take corners to the left of the lane on this road as cars are always crossing the centre lane. As I am going around a left hand corner a 4WD is coming the other way but he's coming right at me! So I tried to push the bike to the left some more while putting in the front brake. I managed to move a wee bit but the 4WD still hit my right mirror, luckily it was only duct taped on anyway cause it went flying. I hit the brakes a bit more, more out of panic cause it made quite a bang. Unfortunatley I hit a soaking wet tar snake and a whole lot or dirt so the bike just slides away from underneath me as I go flying one way and the bike towars the curb. Luckily there was a big pile of mud and dirt etc to stop my bike. I got up and the driver hadnt even stopped. I dont think that they even saw me. Anyway I was sweet and the bikes just has slightly more character now. So thats sweet. My bloody knee which is still fucked form my accidents last year is hurting a bit more than is comfortable but its sweet. I got it home fine, just seems to sit a t 5-6 revs which makes it a bit embarrasing. I checked it over and dont worry Jim the indicators are sweet :D. If anyone wants to bring me beer, feel free! :2thumbsup

Is that by any chance the corner where there's often a truck (party hire or something) parked on the downhill side? Bloody hard to get a car past there safely going down - much worse than the pics SwanTiger posted. Should probably dob them in ...

Just up from there. That road is terrible I reckon that cars should only be allowed to park on one side of the road. Unfortunately most road users dont really think about others all that often and seem to find it hard driving around parked cars safely. Also that road is in a terrible state, I may have been able to save myself if it werent for the tar snake....
I washed all the mud of the bike today and there are only a couple more scrapes on it than before. My helmet has some light road rash on it and my $20 water proof over pants will need replacing so I got off pretty lightly really! Cheers for all your texts and pm's. I took the day off work today as I was feeling sore and sorry for myself but im feeling sweet.

going back to worst ride back in the early days gn250 new years eve left auckland 5.45pm hit napier at 11.00pm cold, sore, sober, and hungry open face helmet from taupo as googles fell of that f***n hill thought the barstard was never going to stop. met me mates in napier at the camp ground they are all pissed me sober dinner was 2 sauages in a piece of bread but would i do it again bloody oath!!!! would do it again 2morrow lol
