not as good as the hyosung GT 250, my mate has a streetfightered one, another has one with all the fairings ripped off, i recently sold a 04, it went well, quite heavy though, and a bit ponderous, but not too bad really..
i got a 05 GT250 for 4k....

whad'ya mean NOT AS GOOD?! In the sprints last sunday the gsx250 CANED the hyosung, course my gsf beat them both.
In my opinion they're good bikes, very similiar to my gsf, i havnt heard of anything going bad with them and thanks to the sprints on sunday we now know you can rev the nuts off them.
enjoy the bike MM

I mean much more heavy, much slower handling, much less comfortable, much more vibrations...
whith me behind the bars of a hyo racing a GSX 250 ridden by someone who has done 35,000km on it, there is only 5-10m between us at 130kph.

Be careful not to confuse 2000-2005 GSX 250 with 90's GSXR250's.
Forget about make and model for a moment let's talk 250cc piston config.
Single - Excellent economy, low power, low torque
Parallel Twin - Good economy, medium power, medium torque
V Twin - Good Economy, medium power, Loadsa Torque
4 Cyl - Medium economy, high power, medium torque
The GSX250 is a parallel Twin (the ol' GSXR250 is a 4 cylinder!)
I would recomend a VTR 250 or a GT250 for you - the GSX250 is about 180kg the VTR only 140kg

I'd highly recommend a ZZR :)
Sounds quite a bit better than a GSX250 in my humble opinion... Must be the twin exhausts on the ZZR, gives it a note that's a bit beefier.

Go shopping - look at the bikes available, see which ones appeal to you... take them for a ride, see which one feels the best for you personally. Everyone on here will have a different opinion on which is a good bike and which is not... if you are not sure about the mechanics, take a friend in the know with - however remember you need to ride the bike, so choose one that will suit you. Riding position, weight, height... all those things come into it too...

I hear you've got a GSX250 coming up from the Mainland.
Hope you get loads of fun out of it. If you can get a Mentor that would be best - teaching yourself can be both painful and expensive.
Welcome to the road on 2 wheels.
