Hi Everyone,
I thought I should introduce myself before joining the grid in the Nationals in January, thanks to Keystone19 for giving me the forum link
I'm coming over from the UK for 6 months and will be trying out Ross King's old R6 for size  I've only raced a ZXR400 at club level so this is going to be a huge step up - my goal is not to get lapped :2thumbsup
Does anyone have any experience of the UK club racing scene who can let me know what differences there are, if any ?
I'm looking forward to meeting you all !
Cheers

We don't have to wear funny orange vests when we start out, and we all crash a lot when we start out.
Have fun while you're here!
My vote for best tracks here.....Manfeild and Ruapuna.

In a nutshell. The club scene in the uk is a lot more intense than over here.
The nationals do bring out the best in the country but even so the intesity is probably about the same as a club level meeting in the uk
Have fun
Ill be out there with ya--well on my SV650 in F3

Come one mate...you've just come out of a relationship. Keep your mind on your racing.

Whats that got to do with the racing intensity??
In the uk they arrive with a full spares kit--theres like tyre and spares vendors all round the place at CLUB level--The tension in the air is elkectric.
Shes in for a culture shock coming out here to even a national meeting

Nothing.
Racing is the same no matter where you go mate. It's what you want to make of it.
I bet I was one of only a few out of 40 entrants in the motard class at Wanganui that wasn't using tyre warmers.
Didn't stop me running in the top five or so bikes until I went to hospital.
They have numbers over there mate, that's all.
If she's good enough to run at the front here, she'll find it no different apart from the numbers of people doing the business.
If she's not, she'll be right at home running around with people her own pace.
That's not a slag off, that's an opinion.
And lots of people running around midpack and beyond will look more professional with their tyre warmers etc than some faster people.
That's racing mate.

Hi Everyone
Hello and Welcome.
We don't have to wear funny orange vests when we start out, and we all crash a lot when we start out.
In bucket racing (F4/F5) you have to wear a lovely bright orange vest if you are starting out. Oh the shame :(

Paul, in the pits next to us at Manfiel last weekend there was a pom just over and starting racing in NZ. (on the 250 GP bike and the old RD 350)
If you know his details maybe he could chat about the differences here...
Oh and welcome to the NZ race scene Loz.

Must admit I'm getting worried ! Since agreeing to Gordons amazing offer they've managed to blow "my" engine up and now the accident in PI :crybaby:
That was seriously bad luck but at least Ross is ok.
I'm planning to do the whole series assuming I can keep the bike for long enough

Sweet, I'm just starting in F2 aswell. Have had one race, and I'll probably be at both the North Island National events if I can, so hopefully I'll see you out there. Sweet.

I'd say a fair few people on these forums will be at Nationals. Like Loosebruce, and DSS3 and TwoSmoker and more no doubt. Still I've got to get fast on the new bike in a hurry otherwise I'll be wasting my time.

We land in Auckland on Nov 22nd. I'm *really* hoping to get some practice on the bike as I've never raced a 600 before, never used Michelin tyres and it takes me ages to learn new circuits - so no laughing when you see me wobbling around please :eek5: Might be a good idea to give me a wide berth when overtaking too
Are you sure you need an F2 bike ? I've been told that Ross's old R6 is bog standard (even the suspenders). Mind you, no-one seems to have mentioned this to Ross
I've no idea what spec bikes everyone else runs ?

The bike you will be riding will be fantastic for you, Unless you are a very fast rider, then you will be getting your ass whipped:buggerd: Watch that Team owner as well, I reckon his eyes are to close together

Great to see another racing chick keen. Dont be put off by the Pukakoe track in auckland if you see that one first, personally i find it too small and too straight. Someone said Manfield and Ruapuna are their favourites and i havnt seen those to comment, but if you ask me the new Taupo track is the best track on the planet, on all the planets in the whole galaxy even. Ok so maybe i am getting carried away, but it is a great track for 600`s. As for the racing scene id say we are an overly friendly bunch over here, where else can you get competitors to hold up your bike while you swap wheels (isnt that right racey rider) I just hope another girly bum in race leathers doesnt make the guys crash even more. Seems some people are easyly distracted.
Make sure you bring your summer gear, i assume its cold in the Uk around november. Its shaping up for a scorcher summer down these ways.
