My son has always had a thing for motorbikes, even more so now that I have sold my car and ride 100% of the time.

Was thinking about getting a small MotoX bike for him when he turns 9 at the end of the year. Are there any clubs in Auckland where you can hire the gear etc so he can try it out? Dont want to buy it all and find out he's not as interested as he thought he was.

dont know of anywhere you can hire all the gear, but my suggestion is to go along to a Pukekohe Motorcycle club day (third Sunday of every month, currently they are racing at Mercer) and try and convince one of the parents into giving your boy a quick ride on a bike. Huntly MC also have a really good kids track, i think they race on the 1st Sunday of the month.
