I just came from dollar dealers in Henderson and they have
A-a set of one piece leathers for racing. They would suit I think 1.75cm med build -Black with stretch panells and padding in all the right places
no knee scrapers but that probably isnt a biggie to sort.
They are only $200 so seem to be a real bargain.
I just figgured they would suit a club racer or a bucket racer
Also they have a mint HJC CL12 lid in size 56 for $125

what sort of guidelines would you put on trying on leathers?
Like how tight they should be, what you ought to be able to do in them eg touch your toes or something?

Hey PT, I guess it depends on your ride style, with a one piece you should me able to do atleast that, if you move around a bit on the bike you need to be free without tight restrection (sp?). When I got mine, i sort leaned all over the shop like a bit of a dick,, did like warm up stretch exercies till I found a 1 piece that allowed the movement I thought I would need,

seems to be okay, I guess the danger of 1 off bargins is maybe we might try to make it fit, only to find out later that its not going to give you the range of movment you need/want, hope this helps,.

I would if possible go sit on your bike with the leathers on
You need a full range of movement in your legs and arms without pulling other parts of the leathers over tight.
In My opinoion They should be snug but not tight around the arms and legs
That said at that price if they are pretty close but not quite right as far as movement of the arms or legs is concerned I would buy em and take em to the lady in st kevins arcade. For a very reasonable sum she can add strips of leather on the crotch to give better leg movement

No1 - Make sure they are match the bike so everyone will say "wow, look at that cool dude" (F/F knows what I'm saying :bleh: )

No2 - Fit, put all your gear on, not just the leathers. Mine were fine until i put a helmet on when i got home, the 'speed hump' fouls with the helmet when tucked.

When I got my 2 piece I could hardly move at all. I had to get help to get my leg over my bike the first time I went for a ride in it. But it stretched quite nicely after a few goes. Now it fits really well. I would probably want to err on the side of slightly too tight as opposed to too loose. If it is loose it could catch on something when you are going for a slide down the road etc and do more harm than good.
