Just watched a little Bichon Frise puppy get run over on Victoria St. The poor little thing was running around for a good 10 minutes while a couple of us from work tried to stop traffic and capture it so we could get it off the road. Unfortunately it was scared shitless and managed to run under a van and get run over by the vans rear wheel. I couldnt help myself but let out a huge scream, it was horrible watching it! The poor wee thing was screaming in pain runnning round in circles. My workmate picked it up and is taking it to the vet now, poor little thing was peeing itself non stop. If anyone in Welly knows anyone who has lost there Bichon Frise (looked like a puppy) with a blue scarf around its neck, it is now at Brooklyn Vet.

Cheers, I feel sorry for the poor wee thing. Feel even worse for my workmate. The dog was wearing tags so I guess they should be able to find its owners?

Yup.. If it's any comfort - people do the same sorts of things when they get run over...

lol, Saint Hels.... We watched it from the office run up Victoria St weaving through traffic into Ghuznee but thought i'd go for a smoke and check to see if it was OK when it came running back. So thats when we tried to capture it. I think most other people would have done the same thing, most of the pedestrians were trying to catch it too.

Sorry SJ, but realistically you did all you could - sometimes things just dont work out the way you'd hope. When your numbers up its up, etc.

Ah for sure. Sad but it happens to be honest im just glad it wasnt my pet I just watched getting run over. I feel a little sad but its not ruining my day too much, on the other hand my workmate who took the puppy to the vet went home, covered in blood and urine so I cont blame him really.

Anything called a Bichon Frise deserves to be run over. Well done, especially the part when you disguised the fact that you were herding it towards a nice fat van tyre.
