This headline was on the front page of the local paper in Kumeu, Auckland.
For the next few weeks the police will be targeting drivers who speed, drive badly, seat-belts, driving to conditions, licences.
Speed cameras, road blocks, unmarked cars, electronic radar, are to be used.
Maybe all us riders will have to be real careful up there over the next few weeks.

Since when did they opt for electronic radar?
Fuckin fat cops, gettin slow! Pretty bad if they can't run as fast as a Honda or a cage?
Now they are targeting bikes.

Read this in the local paper too.
Sounds like certain "officials" have groomed this as their pet project and know it will be a "success". Simply to add another knotch to their career belt and open new opportunities to increasing the stars on their shoulder.
Bastards.
I'm all for saftey though, but I think it really needs to start with the improvement of Rodney's roads. They're poorly designed and maintained.

I use to work for a certain company that had won the local contracts for roading. A lot of the time we would get half a day off because someone back at the head office had fucked up the seal design and ordered the wrong quantity of the wrong grade.
Don't you just love paying taxes for incompetence :2thumbsup
