Felt like Jetski... Among other things it was a good opportunity to learn the limits of waterproofness of my gear.
Anyone else riding this morning?

Short answer...NO
Did ride home in it last night tho and most things stayed dry until I stopped at the lights in Epsom (always surface floods) and two cars coming the other way completely swamped me, I mean a wave over the top of my helmet type of swamping.
I even had my visor up...road water tastes a bit like waikato drunk from an ashtray, I know why I gave that up.
I no longer like Commodore drivers:Pokey:

My first ride in real rain..
Have to say, it was truck spray that was the real problem for me... rain wasn't so bad... and was good to see how waterproof my gear is.
Get to work and downstairs was flooded thus so were the shoes i keep here to change into. So i get to wear my riding boots all day today.

So how many chapters of Harry Potter did you get though on the train this morning?
I found that only the internal pockets of my gear are waterproof. Got a soggy mobile. Found a HUGE diesel spill on Grafton road. Nasty.

I haven't taken the train for a couple of weeks now.
The stench of peasents was putting me off my food.

Yep, it's a fine sunny day with only a small breeze down here, too hot for full-face or any poly-prop etc..
Been watching th odd one or two bikes cruising past, look like they're on tour going by the gear they have, bet they're having a ball.

Yes I commuted today in the pissing down rain. Bloody weather decieved me by stopping raining for long enough for me to get me gear on, warm up the bike and get out onto Dom rd before opening the heavens on me.
Good on everyone else out on bikes today...

Had enough of work so left around lunchtime. It pissed down on the way home but I gotta say, Spidi Step In Road gear is 100% waterproof. It's like riding in a climate controlled cocoon.
On the way, a third world immigrant driving a taxi decided I could stop in time for him to do a u-turn. It's okay cause I was slowing for a red light anyway but then he stopped, blocking the road cause a car was coming the other way. I eased off on the brakes enough to give his drivers door a bit of a nudge. Bum buddy bah!

I came home on an R1150 GS last night (so no fairing to hide behind). The rain started around the Bombay hills and lasted right through to Epsom. Fortunately I had changed into a nylon rain suit at Te Puke - so I was totally dry when I got home (except for my gloves which were soaked right through).

 Rode this morning, managed to dodge between showers, light splatter only.
Close call on coming to a stoplight, was green light, but nice surface flooding, flashed brakes to warm cage behind me that was speeding up to catch the light. I was so slow that the light changed, so stopped and the driver started venting until he actually looked out of the car and I pointed to the water, he shut up real quick. After progressing through the couple inchs of water following me, he considerably slowed down (think he had kids int he car).
Ride home looks fun, road has a very nice sheen to it. Be wise out there, rubber side down.

yea, rain sucks. It seems my knees in leathers arn't fully waterproof  so i got damp knees and soaked shoes but still probably drier than all the fools walking around uni in the rain :buggerd:
