As we all took a stand and moaned about the cancellation of public open days at Manfeild, they've made provisions for bikes to enter the Club sprint days!

Awesome stuff!

This is the e-mail I just received from them. I'm going to stop in on my way back from Auckland Sunday.

Hi there,
Just to let you know that this weekend we are running an Open Clubsport Day.

It will be run similar to the Public Open Days that we used to have, and there will be a provision for motorcycles.

The day will run from 11am till 4pm. Cost is $40 and for more info you can check out the website, as we posted new information today.

We will just get you to fill in an entry form, similar to a car one on the day.

If you can make it that would be great, as if it is succesful we might look at carrying them on for future Open Clubsport Days.
Hope you can make it, see you at Manfeild.

Kind regards

That's the spirit!

Bear in mind, if we don't support it, we wont be invited again........

Two track days in a weekend sounds bloody marvelous to me.

How are club day run?

Do we line up on the grid and a flag is dropped?

Reason i ask is that my insurance will cover "open days" but not races of course, they state a race as having grid positions, timing etc..

I have been to test days where you are free to do what you want, to start from the pits, which in no way could be classed as a "race"

Any info?

Wkid- Shame, if only there was someone locally who keeps a spare bike, oh I don't know, say a Duke Monster for example in her gargre.
Whitetrash & Deano - great to hear you Guys will still try and make it with all those miles to do in one weekend. Its short notice but Dion and I are keen to try and get there and pass the word along. Like Deano said, WE NEED A SHOW OF BIKE SUPPORT TO MANFEILD - USE IT OR LOSE IT.

Hey WK I'd let you take mine around but I'm not sure on what needs to be done to it to let it on the track ??.....It has a current warrant but not rego'd....and it has all the indicators and such on ........I'm going over for a look but not to ride round the track ...but if you think the old beast would do ya you're most welcome ... :Punk: She needs a good old tune and has just the bridgestones she came with but she'll go when you ask and is better than nothing at all..... :scooter:
Let me know .....

I hope we can all go, as the email said the future of provision for bikes at these days depends on the turnout for this one on the 4th. I would go rail, hail or shine but am in the SI :blank:

The long range forcast says: "North Island, most showers clearing and becoming fine. Expect some showers to persist however in the north and along eastern coasts from Gisborne to Wairarapa. South Island, becoming fine just about everywhere. Frosty overnight." ... so it will probly be a bit damp to start with but hopfully the track will be good as the day goes on.

Discodan, since you live near the track how about you post us Welly Lads an early morning weather update at about 7am on Sunnyday. Most will be leaving home about 7.30 onwards.
Sometimes Wgtn riders look out the window, see crap rain clouds and go back to bed not realising it may clear at Feilding.
Cheers

Whoa Mark, 7am might be a bit of a challenge lol. But yea actually I was thinking about doing that, only I usually look out my window to see blue skies and then 5 mins later its raining. If I can I will let you guys know what its like at the time though. :mobile:

That's not the cheerful news we were looking for Spud. The wetometer is taking a bath here in Wgtn at the moment as well. Not promising for tomorrow. Bugger bugger bugger  .
Hooks - a lot us Welly riders park up in the white stables right next to the pit marshalling area. Looks like it will clear up in the morning down here so we probably wont head off so early now. Usually leave at 8.15-8.30 to get to the track 10.30ish. Fingers crossed, hanging out for a dry track day. Looking forward to meeting some KBers.
