View Full Version : hXc - victim of road rage

On his way home from band practice tonight at about 9.30, hXc became a victim of road rage.
He came up behind a couple of people in a ute, weaving all over the lane at about 30 kph. Wanting to put some distance between him and them he pulled out to pass. As he got level with the driver he could see that he was texting on a cell ph so beeped the horn at him, shook his head and carried on down the road. The guy in the ute then decided that a bit of tail gating was in order, made all the more interesting by turning his headlights on full. hXc thought in light of their response perhaps he'd be better off behind them, so slowed and pulled left to let them overtake. They weren't having any of that tho, slowing and pulling left right behind him. He then sped up and carried on, only to have the lights turn red as he approached.
He was turning left at the lights, but was feeling pretty intimidated by this point, so didn't indicate his intentions. They pulled up beside him and the passenger threw his door open, nearly knocking hXc off his bike. The guy then starts throwing punches to his chest, arms and slaps him around the head a few times.. duh, moron! What does that do when you're wearing a helmet.
The lights changed green, hXc turned left, with the offenders going straight through the intersection, whereupon, hxc u-turned and followed at a safe distance to get their rego.
Police have been informed and were coming around to take a statement but have just rung and taken one over the phone instead.
hXc is okay, not hurt, but was pretty shaken up by the whole thing. He was able to give a good description of the vehicle and the prime offender and I hope they get the sod. Big hero - over 6 ft tall, and pretty solid (read: too much macca's). Picking on a fairly average height, slightly built teenager.

Just had another ph call from the cops, the registered owner of that vehicle has not lived at the address on file for 3 years.... appears tho that there is fingerprints/handprint on the helmet. We have to take it in to the station tomorrow.
Advice from the cops - don't pass people like that, it only antagonises them... WTF, motorcyclists are supposed to have some sort of 6th sense that lets them know the driver in front of them is of caveman mentality...
What about taking the angry drivers off our roads??? nah.. silly suggestion - too hard basket, of course.

This was not road rage. Your son did NOTHING wrong. "Road rage" makes it sound explainable or excusable when it is neither. Knucklescrapers who do this should lose license and vehicle. And be permanently cuffed (make em tight).
What this was is like this. Son met a DANGEROUS psycho on the road. An evil psycho bitchhole who looks for any opportunity to spread his hate around. If he'll bash a stranger at the drop of a hat, you can guarantee the loser is no joy to those unlucky enough to know him.
May the owner of pg6988 SUFFER removal from the planet soon. Pollution!
To damage psycho's vehicle will not suffice. If murder was legal I'd place him at the top of our list. But the best we can hope for is that he has the good sense to get himself sterilised. I will pray that his slime is not fertile & keep an eye out. Life can become difficult when mail and things go astray, and all sorts of bad luck plagues one. If PG is a KBer do NZ a favor - perish.

SG makes a good point. This was assault and should be treated as such. Don't let the Police treat it as a "raod incident". Be very clear and concise as to what you want done and how you want it addressed. In my personal experience in reporting an incident, the Police, though not deliberately, so, got their wires crossed and misinterpreted my report.

Does no one use thermite anymore????
The following is taken from http://www.members.lycos.nl/pyrocorp/pyrocorp_online/anar666.htm
Thermite II... or A better way to make Thermite by Jolly Roger
Thermite is nasty shit. Here is a good and easy way to make it.
The first step is to get some iron-oxide (which is RUST!). Here is
a good way to make large quantities in a short time:
- Get a DC convertor like the one used on a train set. Cut the
connector off, seperate the wires, and strip them both.
- Now you need a jar of water with a tablespoon or so of sodium
chloride (which is SALT!) added to it. This makes the water
conductive.
- Now insert both wires into the mixture (I am assuming you
plugged the convertor in...) and let them sit for five minutes.
One of them will start bubbling more than the other. This is the
POSITIVE(+) wire. If you do not do this test right, the final
product will be the opposite (chemically) of rust, which is RUST
ACID. You have no use for this here (although it IS useful!).
- Anyway, put the nail tied to the positive wire into the jar. Now
put the negative wire in the other end. Now let it sit overnight
and in the morning scrape the rust off of the nail & repeat until
you got a bunch of rust on the bottom of the glass. Be generous
with your rust collection. If you are going through the trouble of
making thermite, you might as well make a lot, right?
- Now remove the excess water and pour the crusty solution onto a
cookie sheet. Dry it in the sun for a few hours, or inside
overnight. It should be an orange-brown color (although I have
seen it in many different colors! Sometimes the color gets fucked
up, what can I say... but it is still iron oxide!)
- Crush the rust into a fine powder and heat it in a cast-iron pot
until it is red. Now mix the pure iron oxide with pure alluminum
filinos which can be bought or filed down by hand from an aluminum
tube or bar. The ratio or iron oxide to aluminum is 8 grams to 3
grams.
- Congrats! You have just made THERMITE! Now, to light it...
- Thermite requires a LOT of heat (more than a blow torch!) to
ignite. However, a magnesium ribbon (which is sorta hard to find..
call around) will do the trick. It takes the heat from the
burning magnesium to light the thermite.
- Now when you see your victim's car, pour a fifty-cent sized pile
onto his hood, stick the ribbon in it, and light the ribbon with
the blow torch. Now chuckle as you watch it burn through the hood,
the block, the axle, and the pavement. BE CAREFUL! The ideal
mixtures can vaporize CARBON STEEL! Another idea is to use
thermite to get into pay phone cash boxes. HAVE FUN!! -Jolly Roger-</pre>

Yup thermite!!! Scientists in america put a 1kg block on top of an engine block... after it was finished, the engine was sagging off its supports
CHEAPER (?), easier option -
Mitre 10, bottle of spirit of salt which is hydrochloric acid, about 8mol L-1 (read:eats stuff quick), which will eat through his bonnet, axle, cylinder head, and leave an odorous, green coloured gas. Do not breathe.

SwanTiger
7th October 2006, 10:33
Hmm,
1. The offender is obese/fat
2. Ergo; The offender is unfit
3. Ergo; The offender most likely eats large quantities of fatty foods and has a poor ticker (heart)
Solution:
Tie the offender by chain behind a 4X4 vehicle and drive at jogging pace around a paddock in 10 minute bursts, stopping for 5 minute breaks. Continue until the offender has a heart attack.
The reason this must be done in a paddock is that he will occasionally fall over and if there is too much damage (grazes from the road, etc.) then there will be questions.
Otherwise he is just a fat dude who had a heart attack.

If using a explosives of any type you always need to do some calculations because butting a block of C4 down and blowing up a city block only works in movies. If a calculation ends in P then it means use the minimum amount, but a little more wont matter, except when blowing a tree 50ft up in the air...

Swantigers idea. plus the P, exercise plus P and it all looks natural. You also line up loads of takeaways by the running track - no pixie caramel for this dik.
Nb - said vehicle is NOT the offenders. He was passenger in it. But if he turns up to court in another then positive ID can be made for that one's wheels.
Yungatart - for some reason cops try to find ways a crime is not one on a technicality. For example (in NZ) you can not murder on the road. On the road and using a vehicle is a disqualification. It can be murder 1 in the U.S.
Similarly assault seems to be regarded as something lesser if it happens on the road - by definition "road rage" seeks to understand the offender by framing him as a stressed out commuter. And for some reason they raise the question of whether it is deserved - right up to murder.
We can not believe in a universe where shit happen to victims. There is self interest in this. As if shit happens randomly them we could all be in the victims shoes oneday. So of course it don't - they always deserved it, not tough enough, not smart enough, not fast enough - whatever!!!!
"Hmmm so the guy you kicked to death while he was unconcious after you and your friends beat him for 5 hours kind of deserved it. First he called you an alien and then after passing out he made a smelly mess and thats why you kept on. Well yes of course your actions are kind of understandable so I think we'll just call it manslaughter - no? Oh but it wasn't really an accident you say. OK then how about just injuring with intent."

What an arsehole, probably related to the bitch who got out of her car and threatened to do me in once in Levin. I was in the straight-through lane, she was in the left-turning lane and of course deciced to go straight ahead, trying to cut in front of me. I blasted on the horn (I was in the car) and was still ahead of her when I got to the roundabout a few hundred metres away. I had to stop for a car coming from my right and she jumped out of her car and ran up to my door, yelling her head off and calling me everything under the sun. Unfortunately for her, the car cleared the roundabout so I just took off, leaving her with a line of traffic built up behind her!
If it had been me in this instance, I would have looked at running the red light if I could do so without endangering myself or others. After all, it's not likely THEY would have reported the incident. Unfortunately there are tossers like that everywhere.
Oh, and speaking of tossers, saw this 'early settler' (like it!) riding a V-Rod through Levin this morning - wearing camouflage gear and a German-style open face helmet. Looked so pathetic!

Hey thanks for that.
Well people, it seems the cops have been mislead. They were told the owner of that ute has not been there for 3 years, yet today, a certain KBer saw that very same ute outside that very same house, so it has some sort of connection with it.
If I happened to get photos with times on them (digi cam) on different days and different times, and give them to the Police, would that be frowned upon? Technically, I'm not doing anything illegal, but they may not want me 'meddling'(sp?) with their 'investigation'.

Shit! Argh! The case will be going no further. The driver of the car went into the cop shop last night and spoke to the officer in charge of the case, his story was virtually the same as mine, but more trying to save his arse in there.
Because the driver 'doesn't know him' and the prints on my helmet aren't identifiable, the offender will not be found. The driver says that his name is 'Ed', doesn't know his last name and he 'just picked him up'. Oh, and the driver 'didn't see him hit me'. . .
What a load of shit, that is! So, I guess it's brake fluid time now, even though it wasn't the driver who hit me.

Yep, pretty much what hXc said, except that the cop spoke to me as well. He is "very concerned' at the way Zac 'engaged the driver' and provoked the situation, putting himself at risk.
BTW the cop knows that the driver is lying, but can't torture him to get to the truth.
Zac should have stayed behind him, got a rego number, stopped his bike, removed gloves and helmet, and used his cell ph to call police. They would have been there quickly to apprehend a possible drink driver and been totally unconcerned about Zac being outside of his 10 pm curfew by then !
Yeah right, says I! (The cop actually thought it was 10.30 not 10pm).
We do have discretion, he says, and use it! Another tui ad!
The only option open to us is to see this thug walking down the street, make a positive ID, call the cops and it will be all over rover for him... another tui ad.
I can't believe the way that this guy tried to make Zac out as the criminal, the wrong doer in this instance. Seems like another case of the victim being shafted while the thug runs free.

Realoty is, you're not going to get the police to take any interest. Noone was really hurt, the assault was a minor one, and the possible charges(to the driver, for fibbing I mean) would be incommensurate with the offence.

Best thing to do in the first place. Glad to hear you're aok as that sort of shit can be pretty unsettling. If I may offer what I hope is good advice....I think when you're on a bike, it's best not to engage in the swapping of stares and glares. Simply get a number if you feel the need, and get away from such drivers. You just never know when one of them may be pissed or stoopid enough (or worse both) to use his vehicle as a weapon. Not good. Been there.

If using a explosives of any type you always need to do some calculations because butting a block of C4 down and blowing up a city block only works in movies. If a calculation ends in P then it means use the minimum amount, but a little more wont matter, except when blowing a tree 50ft up in the air...
AH my young grasshopper.
1 pound of C4 on a 3 inch thick steel plate will but slightly tarnish the surface.
100 grammes of C4 over a little copper angle will cut the fucker in half like a hot knife through butter.

My take on it - anyone taking revenge is:
1) stooping to his level... which in turn will provoke another response. It's called an arms race
2) planning to do this on vehicles... with number plates? Gee I wonder if they have access to looking up plates too... let me see... $2 at the Post Office isn't it?
3) committing a premeditated criminal act
4) presuming the person you're planning to get has no way of responding with force. 100 bikers on the lawn revving, doing donuts etc is one thing. A sinlge .22 rifle pointed out the window changes the balance of power pretty damned quick. and if it's a shotgun, or a semi auto...
As a rule of thumb - never argue with an idiot - they wear you down to their level and beat you with experience. Get the cops on the case, and stay close to the cops - see what comes of it.
Don't do what they expect. They want confrontation - that's what they expect. The want it and are probably good at dealing with it.

Pretty simple really.
You have an address, you know the driver is associated with it in some way even if he doesnt live there.
Get a carload of guys, make sure everyones wearing black and has a balaclava. Turn up at said house , making sure each person has a baseball bat / weights bar / axe handle / what have you. Kick in the front door, yank the phone out of the wall, and beat the shit out of the people in the house until they tell who the guy who did it is, and where he lives.
Or you simply send our russian alchoholic friend Mr Molotov to visit them.
Either works for me.

Pretty simple really.
You have an address, you know the driver is associated with it in some way even if he doesnt live there.
Yer trollin' right?
So somebody buys a ute off you, fails to change ownership, pisses off somebody whose huge ugly mates kick in your door looking for the new owner of the ute, I bet YOU would be thrilled with THAT!!!
OR Ute owner lived at the address where you now live only he was living there about two lots of tenants previous to you.
And agin, he pisses off somebody who then comes in through your shattered front door with a group of nasty heavies at 3am looking for owner of ute...
Again I bet you'ld be stoked with THAT too eh?

Get a carload of guys, make sure everyones wearing black and has a balaclava. Turn up at said house , making sure each person has a baseball bat / weights bar / axe handle / what have you. Kick in the front door, yank the phone out of the wall, and beat the shit out of the people in the house until they tell who the guy who did it is, and where he lives.
Or you simply send our russian alchoholic friend Mr Molotov to visit them.
Either works for me.
The only language our "early settler" friends understand is violence, so you need to speak in their reo.

Jesus - talk of petrol bombing someone because they slapped a kid. Dare I say there was a bit of provocation from both sides, not that it justified hitting or slapping him back. Its not like both guys jumped out and gave him a good kicking. Lesson learn't? Just overtake and move on.

When i was in a similar situation i told the police exactly what happened (including my actions which werent exactly exemplary), this put me up on the wall too which i took into account at the time. Perhaps if a criminal record is not going to do good things for his career plans (police? aviation?) then perhaps he change tack on the road and start being a little more thoughtful when he decides to do things like this.
I'm not saying he did wrong, or that he deserved what happened, or that the cops will do him for what has happened, but until he has a bike powerful enough to get himself out of the way of trouble then it might pay to just keep his head low to ensure he fullfils his career plans.

Earlier in the thread it was posted that the ute had been seen outside that address in the last day or two, despite police being told the person hasnt lived there for years. Ergo my statement that the driver still has SOMETHING to do with that house. Maybe he still lives there, maybe its his parents, who knows.. The ute was outside the house, which means the driver is still associated with it.
My point was either the person will be at the house, or the people at the house will know who he is, because his ute still goes there.

I dont make a habit of beating up random teenage kids on motorbikes. I do however make a habit of using violence when anyone threatens or attacks my friends and family, and I dont fuck around with bitch slaps. If someone fucks with me and mine, I will retaliate, I will not play nice, and I will escalate the level of force used.

Or coming back to complain the ute is a piece of crap and he wants his money back?
Or actually visiting another house.
Or was he dropping off a hitchhiker who lived in the area.

Years ago i was on a GT50 (only thing I could afford at the time) dickhead in a Morris 1100 jammed on the brakes in front of me without signalling, I evaded as I had plenty of room but I gave a blast on the horn as a "watch out!" alert. Turned out the driver was wearing a Mongrel Mob patch and he chased me up the road, into a side street and attempted to ram me off the road as I entered a corner.
I braked hard, he shot past and I did a U-turn and got the Hell outta Dodge - didn't stop for rego or anything, just focussed on using every last bit of manoeuvrabilty and whatever speed that little bike was capable of to loose the bloke - He was turning his car around as I fled the scene. Managed to lose myself up a couple of streets and waited until it seemed safe to continue my ride home.
Now, from reading some of the posts, I see the gang member was justified in attempting to kill me (or at least assault me with a lethal weapon) because I was totally in the wrong for beeping my horn at him and it's an offense deserving of murder.
Grow up some of you cocks! What some of you are saying is that you believe that assault is justified after being beeped at - pretty much the same mentality as the wanker who assaulted hXc.
A horn is a warning device to call attention to other drivers who do not seem to have realised you're there. We're always being told it is not for tooting out to people we know (causing annoyance to others) and now you're saying that using it as a warning signal is "wrong" and deserving of being roughed up.
Might as well rip the horns out of all vehicles as they force people to behave in a violent fashion. Bad boys, hXc and me, forcing normally calm and law abiding citizens to commit acts of violence as we have!
A few weeks ago I was behind some boi racers who decided that pulling a rakey in the middle of the lane was a cool thing to do. The retardmobile slithered all over the lane, into a side road and they did a "sustained loss of traction" U-turn and lurched towards the road they'd just left.
I had already braked and reduced speed and when I saw there was a risk that they would come flying back into the lane I crossed the centreline into the empty on-coming lane to buy myself manoeuvring room should I need it and I carried on past. Gee, I guess I'm lucky as my irresponsible behaviour in daring to pass these idiots somehow failed to force them into acts of violence against me, but I'm so glad to learn from this thread that passing some young hoons who're acting like idiots is "irresponsible" and "bringing things upon myself".
Nice also to learn that being assaulted by someone twice your mass is insignificant and it only counts if both occupants of the cage beat you up. I'm sure that's a great relief to everyone.
Fuck sakes, some of you. A fellow biker was beaten up and you get dicks posting that he deserved it and brought it on himself "because he passed them" or "beeped his horn".
I do not agree with the calls for vengeance and vigilantism in this thread but I also disagree with people being so quick to put the blame on hXc - the police and the cock that beat him up have done enough of that without the members of his own community joining in - it's not like he monoed past them screaming "I'm gonna kill every last muthfuckin' one o' ya!"
BTW, I've had the pleasure of meeting hXc, Yungatart and MSTRS and they're great people. hXc is way too cheeky to his parents to be a "mummy's boy" - quite a mature, capable and bright young man - brighter than some 19-year-olds on this site, I might add.
hXc, sorry to hear what happened, I can well imagine how you must have felt. It's not acceptable what the wanker did.
Yungatart and MSTRS, hXc is blessed to have parents like you.

Interesting story now....
Many years ago a biker in New Plymouth had been drinking at his local just down the road from the copshop. He decided he had had too much to ride, so to avoid the temptation he walked down to said copshop and handed them his keys. The pricks then locked him up for being drunk in charge.
The next week he was again over what he considered his limit and, remembering his abysmal treatment, decided to just ride home.
He met two cars drag-racing and presumably was not quick enough in his reactions to avoid them.
Yes, he was killed.
The cops are NOT your friend
As you get older you tend to get more mature. When I was young, I acted in a youthful manner. I hated authority, and would rark those in authority up as much as I could, although I had a knack of not stepping too far over the line (most times).
Now I reached what I consider my prime (rubs tummy and grins) I now longer feel the same way. That youthful exuberance has now been replaced by the leasons learns in the last 30 cough cough years.
You can't TRUST those in authority, the key word here is trust. I wasn't raped by a priest, or locked up for a crime I didn't commit. But plenty of people are.
Now before people blurt out the usual drivel that all cops aren't bad (I've said it myself because I met a good one once), do you want to take the chance.
Remember, the system sucks, and if you happen to be in the right, then a dodgy copper will screw you everytime.

I feel this is appropriate to post. It was my PM to Wolf, explaining a couple of things. I don't care what the people mentioned think, or the mods either. Because quite frankly, these people are full of their own shit and need to be told to shut the fuck up.
Hey, thanks for all the nice comments mate. I've basically stopped posting in there because it fucks me off to know that people are standing up for a criminal, while a perfectly innocent man is being told that he's a criminal. I'm sure you know who those people are, and that they are full of shit.
R6_Kid and Lias are the one's who are really fucking me off. R6, because of his comments about waiting until I have a bike powerful enough to get me out of trouble, because if I wanted to, I could have easily avoided being hit, if I had known they were going to hit me. On a bike, it's not always about power, more so about tactics. I would have thought he would have known that it's not possible to tell if someone will take offence to a warning signal until after it's happened.
Next time someone looks like they're gunna thump me or whatever, I won't stop and I will do anything possible to defend my rights as an innocent motorist. If that involves speeding, foot paths or other peoples property etc then so be it. I will not stop; I have learnt that much. But I will also toot my horn at them if they are deserving of it. As you said, a horn is a warning signal - a warning to get off the fucking road is included in that.
And Lias because of his constant 'revenge' bullshit. I will not be doing anything to him or his property/vehicle. I will be looking out and maybe occasionally going past his residence, but doing nothing to harm him. If he wants to play 'chase the biker' if he sees me, then I will defend myself. If he or his car get hurt in the process then that's not my problem. But I will not go out of my way to seek revenge.
Thanks mate
Zac

So I think you gotta accept not everyone is going to agree 100% with you. Right or wrong. Some people will just play devils advocate from time to time. This is the same thing you would face if this went before a jury in court, it would get put down to 50/50 - which is why the police can't do much.

Yeah, well, there's "opinion" and "playing devil's advocate" and then there's comments like:
if hxc was to take a good hard look at himself he may see that somtimes ya just gotta tuck yer head in and get on with it instead of trying to be a smartarse and dont go running to mummy when it all turns to shit
and this one:
but if you are young and in a vulnerable situation (eg riding a bike and not very well built yourself) then it normally pays to just go on your way without being the 'big man' and looking disagreeingly at other road users because of their actions.
from a 19-year-old PFY whose sig and profile are full of "don't fuck with me" shit - both saying it was his fault for provoking the attacker as well as comments like:
Its not like both guys jumped out and gave him a good kicking.
that suggests being walloped by someone twice your mass is trivial and not worth being concerned about...
Really, who can be surprised that the cops didn't give a shit and the retard in the car thinks beating up someone who passed/beeped-at them is acceptable when there are those here who seem to to think that "road rage" is both perfectly acceptable and the recipient's fault.
I'm looking forward to the day when certain people here post that they were cut off and beaten up by someone and how much of a bitch it was that they got no redress.

I wasn't there and don't know the full story either except as told by hXc & family. Nor have I read the whole thread but feel compelled to reply based on the last few comments.
Why should I disbelieve what I'm told? Mate, no one deserves to be assaulted because of road rage. IF there is more to it than that then your conscience will do its job of hassling you, I aint going to do that on the off chance.
Here's a little saying - "I refuse to sanction that negative affirmation" which is new-age hippy speak for "I hear what you say but its crap so i'm not going to let it negatively affect me".
Maybe what some people are saying is that some dickheads do react in violent ways to some things and it might be in your best interests to avoid antagonising these arsewipes. Better to be wrong than dead right.
Having said that it is interesting that time and cost go into prosecuting for dangerous driving someone based on a phone call from a granny. But revenge is dumb, it corrupts you. Leave it to Karma - they are scum and will lead scum lives.

I have been involved in road rage in the past - and everytime I have, I know I could have avoided it. Like I already said we weren't there at the time so I don't know if it could have been in this case - but you can't ask for peoples opinions (isn't that what posting on a site like this is about?) and then tell people to shut the fuck up because you don't agree with them.

If that is the case then I apologise, but I took your comment as minimising the assault - which I perceive the cops he dealt with have done enought of, lately.
Your comment, seen in that light, does beg the question as to whether you think that both of them kicking the crap out of him would justify fire bombs etc....
As I said in my initial post: I do not condone the idea of vigilantism/revenge, but nor do I condone the automatic assumption of some that hXc "asked for it" by "being a smartarse" and "trying to be the big man".
Shit, I've been abused for cock-headed things i've done on the road through being inattentive (as they were) - and I'm talking obscenities, obscene gestures, horns and personal insults, here - and my instinct was not to attempt to kill the person who had colourfully pointed out that I had fucked up big-time.
"Road Rage" is like "sexual molestation" - a concept dreamed up by the legal system to minimise what happened by avoiding the real terms like "assault with a lethal weapon" or "rape".

No need to appologies mate, I can see any involved personally would be a bit wound up about the whole thing. No I wouldn't consider petrol bombs as reasonable retaliation - hell there could be kids in the house!
I guess what I'm trying to say is that it could've been worse - there are some people out there who will go way over what reasonable people think is acceptable - prisons are full of them. Unfortunately they are not all in prison and some of them are cruising around our roads. You can spot most of them when your out in public - on the roads its not so easy.
