Hi all, took the XLR125 for a little sunday run today.
I live at karitane (Otago), headed west thro the Nenthorn, over the Butter and Egg Rd, right in the the Moonlight valley, another right in to Golden Bar Rd (north of the mine) and stayed in top of the hills all the way to Palmerston.
Back down SH1 to refuel at Waitouaiti and then the 5Ks home, 125Km on 4,5 Litres, now thats cheap fun.
Saw one ute and gave way to lots of mothers with babys (ewes with lambs) on the back roads.
The nor-wester was a little rough up on top (500m) but quite nice in the valleys.
Cheers
Pete.

Be a bit of a change from the 750 eh. You must have some neat gravel back roads your way.

No reg in the 750 and some times its nice to ride a light bike, yep some cool back roads and all public roads to boot, even if you have to open the gate to get throw the farmers stock yard.
May have snowed on the tops last night, seams to be a bit around today.

Time you got a V Strom or a Transalp - then you could do it all on the one bike!
It is a good trip through there. I'm regularly up to a property at palmerston and try and pick off something different on most trips - zipping arond the old main round past Karitane is still a favourite though!!
